I'd love to know how they compile this. Leicester are never more supported than Wednesday, Wolves, Brum, Forest or Derby. Rangers ahead of Celtic is questionable too.
A university stsudy was done about 6 years ago into fan support. Man Utd got 33% of the vote and Liverpool were second on 10%! Forest came in at 10th.
I doubt anybody really knows the true figures.

with the celtic rangers thing you have to realise that a large majority of celtic fans live in the republic of ireland so they wouldn't count towards the total so that is possibly why rangers are higher.

don't want to be opening this old can of worms. I am not happy to think that Celtic are more popular than rangers but someone made the poin that they though that the figures were slighly dubious and that is A reason why.

the only you could really find out is by asking everyone in the UK. but that take too long, I think what they would have done is got the attendence from each match and divided it by the number of matchs. its simple maths really and I got an E in maths

There is no chance in heaven or hell that there are more Leicester, Norwich, Middlesbrough, Hearts, Wolves or Southampton fans than Forest in the UK. It's a sample poll, and it hasn't worked.

not really as northern Ireland is part of britain and this is a poll of britains. Being pedantic I'll point out that Northern Ireland is part of the UK and is not in Great Britain. As I said before, we just do not know. All we know is that Man Utd are GB's best supported team and Liverpool are 2nd.

Thats funny I thought it was the United Kingdom of Great Britain, both terms being shortened versions of the same thing. As evident by the fact that athletes from Northern Ireland hold a uk passport and can play for team GB strange.

No worries. Maybe they should do a 'most hated poll' too.

theres a LOAD of celtic supporters over here and i mean a LOAD, but if you believe giants fans, you'll see that we in NI have to support either rangers or celtic, to determine are religion: but id say the rangers/celtic thing would be close to accurate tbh, only a few in it anyway

As evident by the fact that athletes from Northern Ireland hold a uk passport and can play for team GB strange. Some have irish passports, you can apply for an irish or GB passport, or dual nationality if you want! although to play football for northern ireland you now must have a GB passport afaik

I dont agree with this either. For a start, no way do aston villa have so many more fans than birmingham city! If these figures are correct, they have at least twice as many as the Blues! Cant really see how they have done this to be honest!
p.s. just read to the bottom of the article. They only asked 5,213 people aged 14 and over across the UK. so how do they get in to the Millions then!
