Sorry to disappoint you, but the Farjestads site says he is leaving to return to the AHL with the Quad City Flames!

Looks like someone forgot to tell Quad City.
Nothing on their site, and no-one on the forums seems to know anything about this.
Not saying your wrong though.

Press release seems to indicate it didn't work out in Sweden and he was off back to Canada but he didn't ice for Quad City last night as they lost 2-1 to Peoria, neither is he listed on their roster.
Having a tryout maybe?

Had an ask round, and still no-one knows about it (officially at least), but in the past couple of weeks, QC have said they're going to bolster their roster with 2/3 older players (Krys Kolanos being one) so Cullen going there would fit. Their official photographer (Drunk Skunk) seemed quite excited about the idea.

Looks a handy defence man, but a -54 I'd give him a miss. Although his played at very good standard of hockey.

can I ask where people get these names from? do they just go looking players recently released, get their stats from hockey DB and post them here? Generally, I think that's about right Teddy! www.eurohockey.net features names of players released by Clubs, sometimes without a destination, so this is an open door for speculative theories! I think with Cullen, the original poster's ID - 'ashotinthedark' sums it up nicely! ;D Still, it brings a bit of interest to dark winter evenings though, doesn't it? Not sure where the Tie Domi theory came from though - right out of left field!!

I was going to send you a PM on this, but to be frank, I couldn't be bothered to respond: Cullen was/is a viable option for the Panthers given their need to sign a NM/D/C, prior to it being confirmed by QC he also a valid topic of conversation, and I don't feel the need to defend posting on the board, especially in the 'Rumours' section, which, by definition, is speculative at best. The personal comment was/is unnecessary.

A far as I can tell it's a bit of fun. What's the harm in seeing who is available and hoping.

Apologies if you feel the reference to your ID as being 'personal', but you chose it, not me! Take a Chill Pill!

Well said Rob, thats why i posted the Tie Domi rumour to see what reaction i would get 3 PAGES Ha Ha No I think you misunderstand me. Picking a free agent's stats out and asking could this guy do a job for us, could be a bit of fun/fantasy. Posting something totally ridiculous looking for a reaction is trolling. Not the same at all...

Just to bring this thread to a proper close...
Cullen hasn't gone to QC Flames, he's gone to Syracuse Crunch after being claimed off waivers.
Apparently 'waivers' is a minefield of rules but here's a summary...
Any player who has played three seasons since signing his first NHL contract or has played 180 NHL games must clear waivers before he is assigned to a minor league affiliate. Once a player is placed on waivers, teams have 48 hours to put in a claim on that player. If more than one team places a claim, the team with the lower number of points in the previous season is awarded the player. If no team places a claim, the player can be sent to a minor league affiliate. When a player clears waivers and is sent down then is called up again, he would not have to clear waivers to be sent down again unless he's played 10 games or been "up" for 30 days.
So even though QC wanted to sign him, he had to clear waivers first. That's when Syracuse stepped in and claimed him.
