People put a lot of emphasis on abit of NHL experience, what bothers me more is we still have a winger playing D and a D man who thinks hes a winger anyway so replacing a LW with an LW, regardless of how good this guy is just screams sideways move.
I have my own theory but will keep that to myself. I hope this guy is a hard worker

He appears to have been cut from the Fresno Falcons just before they played their first game three weeks ago. At the same time they acquired Stauffacher who's just joined Manchester Phoenix.
On the good side, Fresno described him like this when signing him:
Coach Matt Thomas is excited about Hay, a player who scores points and loves to hit. "It is important for us to have a veteran forward like Dwayne Hay on this hockey team. His NHL and AHL experience offers veteran wisdom to our team on and off the ice that will surely benefit this year's roster. Dwayne is a physical hockey player who can also put up points. It is a great combination to have a veteran points guy on your team who likes to punish his opponents."

but not long ago he hit the CHL, the lowest he's played in his career and a league probably on an equal playing field with our own, so hardly that special. saying that though i look foreward to seeing him play if it is him

I dont give a rats ass who he's played with (No offence) - he just doesn't look the right sort of player we need. After gassing PC Drouin, I was hoping for something a wee bit more special.

Stats don't mean to much IMO and I think he could be a handy player for you. From an outsiders point of view I just don't see much balance in your line up.

I'm not getting excited either way. Until its confirmed (when Dave Simms announces it & not before) or those who have stated it will definitely happen today can offer a source for their information I'm not taking anything for granted.

Why on earth do people cry like little girls when someone other than their own website announces news?
You wanted to find out, you found out, you don't have to take it as gospel until it comes from The Panthers!

After gassing PC Drouin, I was hoping for something a wee bit more special. Molin and Wallenberg are currently the 2 hottest players in the league? We need some grit and leadership, not some fancy dan, airy fairy puck hogger.

why don't people wait to see him play (if it is him) before passing judgement on whether he will be right for the team?

I agree we need a grit (Not so sure about leadership) - but does this guy offer that? We needed a high impact centre, & this guy (If it's him) doesn't appear to be that!
