Was informed last night that Panthers have signed ex Basingstoke forward Kevin Bergin . Got a feeling he is a buddy of Corey Neilson so makes sense. What I can remember of him last season was that he was a tough winger with an eye for goal...if a little on the slow side.... Your thoughts...

My thoughts are that the same person that told you that told me too Yep.. that's a pretty solid rumour.

Would be generally happy with this, alot more grittier than shepherd is as i can remember, can fight too.... but is he a centre who can take face offs?

Id be delighted if its Bergin, hes Very tough, Nasty, makes nice plays and scores garbage goals. Weve got 3 british centres capable of winning Face offs and they can be trained, you cant train guys like Molin to crash the net, make space for his linemates and put the opposition netminder off his game!

didn't particularly like the guy at basingstoke, but if he is the replacement im willing to give him a chance. as we know ellis knows what hes doing in terms of wheeling and dealing

My main gripe is Basingstoke fans think he's lazy and by all accounts was cut from his present team for the same reason, do we really need another lazy player?? Oh well will give him a chance if he is the one.

there are reasons why players are lazy, yes they could be just lazy but also if they are stuck with guys that have little talent they can become frustrated and complaicent, would like to see how kev responds to our lines.

Exactly mrmonty, if hes on a line with Molin and Wally as we expect he cant afford to be lazy! I think he would fit in perfectly. Hes a very big guy, its never going to look like hes putting much effort in because he takes long strides but if he can post numbers like that on a below average bison team being lazy id like to see what he can do for us on the 2nd line. It would also be a welcome addition from Shmyrs point of view aswell!

I agree with Rich. Decent signing..(if true of course), and I imagine Ryan will welcome some support too.

Reading his stats and history I'm sure he will be an asset to the team when he eventually arrives. He wil be especially useful replacing that guy wearing #25 skating round doing nothing and not getting involved....
