No it isn't, that's US fluid ounces. 1 ounce [US, liquid] = 1.04 ounce [UK, liquid] 500 milliliter = 17.60 fluid ounces UK

I had a pint in the Castle between each period. Cheaper, quicker, much nicer beer, competent & friendly bar staff and no queue for the toilets. I also won on the quiz machine ;D

I aked for a half of lager. Was told that they were only serving pints this year. Is that a rip off or what?

I think the whole Pepsi affair is disgusting.
I can understand price increases and can take that. But this isn't an inflation increase, because they have decreased the size of the drink which is naughty.
Especially considering you can get nearly the same amount of Pepsi elsewhere in the building for nearly half the price. That's just plain dumb by the catering firm. Not to mention daylight robbery and poor customer service.
The cup of Pepsi was expensive enough to begin with but do do that is just a mockery.

I have to admit to enjoying the nachos, but at 4 quid a pop, might not be indulging myself too often now. Not tight, just a little aggrieved at the increases. After all, for most of the time, these things are a snack, not a necessary meal or drink.

They are seriously extracting the urine.

My asumption was the 16oz would mean a pint but as you say it depends on US or UK measuring. They should be serving in metric measurements which is how people understand it. That's how soft drinks are in cans and bottles. Rather sneaky to try to confuse people with 'foreign' measures. If that was £2 for 16oz UK of pepsi then that is £2 for 454ml. Put it another way.... £1.45 for a can of pepsi or... £2.50 for a pint of pepsi or.... £8.81 for a 2 litre bottle. Then again, as Wiggy says they are charging £4 for a plate of Doritos so I guess the pepsi is a bargain! Take your own crisps, popcorn and soft drinks in just like you should at the cinema.

My asumption was the 16oz would mean a pint Why would it? A pint is 20oz, and they're not advertising in floz, it was merely a comparison. They should be serving in metric measurements which is how people understand it. That's how soft drinks are in cans and bottles. Rather sneaky to try to confuse people with 'foreign' measures. Do you go in the pub and ask for 500ml of Coke? Any measured soft drink dispenser in this country will dispense 2oz, 8oz or 16oz (that's a spirit mixer, a half pint with ice and a pint with ice). They are industry standard measures, just like halves and pints for Beer. As for 'foreign' measures, I think you'll find most people think of metric as 'foreign' when it comes to drinks Weights and Measures. The price of these particular measures is a seperate issue altogether.

Tonight was another shambles thanks to the NIC catering staff.
I got in the queue for some drinks around the 2 min buzzer in the first break, I didn't leave it until about 4 mins into the game, and there was only 3 people in front of me.
I wouldn't mind so much but the staff serving my queue just seemed to potter around. No hustle about them at all. When you can hear the game going on from inside and these guys don't seem interested in serving you, it's not good.
They ran out of food, apart from Veggie burgers by the first break too, which just topped it off.
Not a great start, when you add to that the silly price increasing.

As far as i could tell tonight, everything seemed to be £2.50 or £3. went for a coke and beer - £5. went for pringles -£2.50, Went for a beer £2.50, missus wanted maltesers -£2.50. went for another beer £3.00. I know they like to rip your eyes out because of having a captive audience but these prices are ridiculous. Directors bar beneath block 17 did halves.

The hot dog I had last night was nice and I didn't mind paying £2.50 for a one off. I normally eat at home or in town but yesterday I was in a rush. I nearly laughed my mate out the building when she said a burger was £3.50 then I checked.
You have to be pretty hungry to eat an arena burger but I'm sure they were only £2.50 last I had one.
Had to get my coke topped up twice as the lids dont fit and everytime the attendent tried to put a lid on they split some. I'm not a penny pincher but at the price they charge for coke (I'd have a beer but I now drive to games) is madness.
Don't get me started on the ticketing fiasco I endured yesterday.
By the time Id done at the box office yesterday, the words muttered under my breath rhymed with clucking bell.

I turned up at the T&D bar and ordered 2 pints of lager and lime and a pint of lager shandy......................... it took 15 minutes to get them and the guy put it all into the till and it came to £210.40 and he came back to me and asked me (quite seriously) for the total! After asking him if that was correct and him realising it wasn't he came back with a better total of £9.40 (still a rip off!) I handed over my £10 note and he rang it into the till only for the drawer to open and it be empty! No till drawer in it at all!!!! Organised, not a chance.

Hell, pretty much everything is sold in metric these days. Not surprsising since metric was invented by a Brit unlike imperial measurements which are generally foreign inventions. Go up to someone and ask them if they know how much 16 fl oz is and practically all would not have a Scooby. Unsurprising since schools began teaching metric in the early 1970s which means almost every person going to a game was schooled that way. Cov81.... good job they don't search bags then. Those big pockets in cobats come in useful too. How many now smuggle in their own booze??

Well, as every single pint and half sold in pubs is an imperial measurement, I'd say you're very wrong. Breweries worldwide still measure production in 'barrels', a measure of 36 gallons or 288 pints. Wine also has it's production measured in barrels. Metric wasn't 'invented' by a Brit. The first daily use of 'tenths' was by a Dutch mathemetician some 100 years previous, and it was Revolutionary Frrance that saw the first official adoption of a metric system. Also, Imperial is very much a Brit thing. The Imperial System passed into British Law in 1824. Previously we had used the Avoirdupois system but anti French feeling at the time led to small changes and Legislation regarding the term 'Imperial'.
