the rules that after that season they closed the loophole in.... Which are? I believe that you signed Ellis and Levebvre on the assumption that having a british stamp on your passport made you a British player, to my reccolection only you and London (becasue they signed whoever they could in season 1) had 13 imports registered, everyone else had 12 (or 11 i cant remember) tha twas the rule you took advantage of that year.

THANKS Gazza couldnt remember it just that most if not all the clubs were so fed up that any "loophole" that sheffield exploited was very definitely stopped the year after.... think that says all it does about the relative clubs involved really....

So we broke the rules then? No? Shame. Teams exploit loop holes all the time in any sport. Would you be complaining if you did it? Did you not exploit a loop hole paying Jinmans wife X amount of pounds for a nothing job? I would call that using your nous, in order to gain an advantage.

i have heard that from steelers fans for as long as they have been in the league and to be honest am pretty fed up with it... it came as no surprise to me that the BNL wouldnt take their entry to that league on the grounds that the organisation wasnt trustworthy... and with an attitude in the fans and management like yours it comes as no surprise people are calling into question whether they "exploit loopholes" as you call it others would just call it what it is....

LEGEND Tex, you truley are. Take off the blinkers will you mate? EVERY SINGLE TEAM, including the whiter than white Nottingham Panthers exploit loop holes all the time. Paying players wives, player coaches, "fitness coach". What would others call it Tex? Cheating? How can it be, when no rules were broken. Do you then, think that Nottingham shouldn't be allowed to spend money outside the cap, on players because other teams are not able to exploit that particular loop hole?

Is it ok for other teams to exploit loop holes, but not the Steelers? Don't get me started on whats boring dude, even your own fans are starting to shout you down on your Sheffield fixation.

Did you not exploit a loop hole paying Jinmans wife X amount of pounds for a nothing job? What counts as a "nothing job" then? I had dealings with her when she was doing "nothing" and also know of a legal firm that also dealt with her whilst she was doing "nothing"

What he has said is EVERYONE DOES IT... including us im sure.... but what he is saying is it is wrong either way... but whos gonna stop it? No he isn't. First he said we broke the rules, then he said we bent them, then he said we "expoited loop holes". So these kind of things never happened before 1991 then? No team in Ice Hockey, or any other sport for that matter, exploited any kind of loop hole to get an advantage before the Steelers came into town? THANKS Gazza couldnt remember it just that most if not all the clubs were so fed up that any "loophole" that sheffield exploited was very definitely stopped the year after.... think that says all it does about the relative clubs involved really.... The bottom bit shows what he was trying to say, quite clearly.

In no way was I vilifying the Panthers for doing it, even if it was a nothing job. Just pointing out that other teams ahev and continue to "exploit loop holes". The Steelers were not the first and will certainly not be the last.

It looks like Shuff have the blues. Benningfield is not coming to the UK. Looks like Matsos has been hung out to dry. See Shuff website. Natives are restless on Squeeltalk

Natives are restless on Squeeltalk Hmm ok. I think we'd be restless if we were in the middle of August and still didn't have the last player. As of now it's all about finding the right player for the third line. No rush needed is there! I'd question the guys committment anyway if he's been holding out for 6 weeks to decide where he wants to spend the season... I'm not bothered about 'losing' Bennefield. He looked a crap fighter from the clips I've seen and sounds a bit like a cheap shot Payette character. A repeat of a Clouthier character as our new signing would go down better up here IMO.
