Relax Gazza we are merely saying it looks a bit suspect on that website that whoever controls it must know something of where D Welch is heading, how many transfer over hear have been confirmed on their website after its been announced the other end first? And what im saying Pidge is that to me all its saying on that website is that he isnt going back to his team from last season. Nothing more nothing less. I'm quite open to the fact Welch could very well end up a Panthers player, but i also believe that is far from certain as the original posters on this thread suggested, and i eblieve it was just a simple misunderstanding on their part. That's how I read it too.

Welch could just as easily end up signing for Valarenga in Norway, where his team-mate from last season (and the season before), Evan Cheverie has landed!
Would I want him back? It depends upon who else is out there! From my recollection of his time with the Panthers (and Coventry), he had good hands and a decent turn of speed, but sometimes became anonymous in games, and wasn't particularly physical.
His prowess was definitely on the PP, when more time and space was available to him.
If you get me somebody with his pace and stickhandling skills, but with the kamikaze edge of Simoes, I'd be a happy man! ;D

Having looked at it again I concede I may have got a little over excited, can be read either way.

Would he come back though? To the club that sacked him? Was his problem just with MWB or does he hold a grudge against the club itself?
He was a decent player but nothing amazing, maybe a bit too lightweight at the time although the way the league is shaping up this year with added emphasis on speed and skill he could be more effective. I guess with every signing it depends on the price tag, if he's good value then yes, but not as the one of our higher earners.

We have ZT in place now so maybe he will get an extra yard or 2 on the puck that could make all the difference.

good point Matt, that could give him an extra ten points which added on to the sixtyish he got whilst over here and that isnt shoddy at all

Think you might find that Dan Welch is not coming to us, from what I can gather we were after Cheverie and Welch but now Cheverie has signed elsewhere they have backed off Welch. We'll just have to see but I thought the French website was slightly misleading.

The rumours about Dan Welch seem to be getting stronger IMO. That french transfers site still doesn't have a club down for him. He's a winger with AHL and ECHL experience and has played here before. I don't know if he plays left or right these days, but I've seen reports of him playing left wing when the LA Kings passed him on to Manchester in the AHL several years back. He played with Drouin last year and as far as I can tell hasn't been confirmed for anyone else yet. Also, while looking for Karlander on the Kalamazoo forum I came across a link to this article. I don't think anyone has mentioned this one here yet, but I'm not sure, so sorry if it's been posted already. Panthers chase Karlander and Welch

i dunno if i'd be happy or not to be honest, i'd prefer someone a bit grittier for the second line, no doubt could do a job for us but would still prefer a little bit more steel.

I`d be happy with Dan and Kory wearing the black and gold. Imo Blaisdell didn`t give Dan long enough to show us what he could do.

Prohockeynews.com is a website which involves input from fans, all the articles on it are written by fans, whether there is any truth in this one or whether is it a hunch/a rumour he has chosen to publicise is open for debate.
I certainly would take it with a pinch of salt.
