nah,..... can't see ellis signing a player like that... he has no skill what so ever! ryan shmyr played in countless positions last year and well... i think if we don't see shmyr back we'll be seeing a new guy who has not played in the elite league last year.i have more faith in ellis to say i think he will sign cornish

Going off Shmyr abit. Today I've heard that McAslan has turned down 4 offers from german teams because his girlfriend/wife doesn't want to go to germany.

As I have said elsewhere, I really can't see Clouthier playing on anyone's third line in this country. His skating, points scoring and general play is definitely second line material. Also, I'm sure he'd be asking for more than Shmyr, given his points last season.

It was Matsos who said HE was looking for a 3rd line "role" player, not Mike Ellis. We only have 2 forwards signed upto yet.

I would take corny over Ryan just for the entertainment value yes Ryan's a better player but i like Cornish more and i think he would be a good thing for the panthers as he would make alot of money for the club.

il be absolutely gutted if we sign him, whats the point in having a player that can only fight if hes not even the toughest in the league!! would rather have Jason Clarke, hes rumoured to be UK bound

line of PC, Smithy, Supermac .......... surely not? Let's just look at that tho. I am guessing that top line would cost a fair wack of the wage cap. If that's the case and Mike want a tough guy on the team, maybe Cornish is the balance in that he is one of the cheapest to sign on. ME was talking a lot to me about balance, not only balance in all the areas of the team (Speed, Skill, Strength, Toughness) but also balance in how you pay out wages. ME did say he wanted someone who can play and considering he let Blaz and Simoes go for not getting enough points, I don't see why Corny meets the criteria of being able to play. Let's just wait and see.

steelers web site " "Its interesting being back here in Canada and seeing all the names we are being linked with, some of them we have spoken to and some we haven’t. Also when speaking to Agents you get to find out who is going to other teams. I tell you we are going to be I n for a real tough league next season
"Nottingham have shown their intentions are serious with the addition of Molin to Drouin, i think there are another few good players going there as well"

Smith: Verbal agreement was reached at one stage I believe then Smith and his agent) came back and upped the salary demands quite significasntly, and effect priced himself out of signing for Panthers. McAslan - Returned. Murphy - I understand he was sounded out but never got to contract offer stage. Stevens - Went to France. Point is he was not coming back to Panthers anyway. Clarke - Moved to Italy. Italian/Austrian leagues not too dissimilar in terms of salaries so rumour not too far out. Woolhouse to Scimitars - Sims were very interested in him, and would have fit in with Woolhouses studies. I wonuldnt have been at all suprised to have seen him signed. Thus in terms of rumours, I wouls say pidge had a good return on that crop HL
