PMSL - only half an hour after I joked about it on the main board! ;D
Would be an excellent signing. With Meyers on D, surely he'd be used primarily as a winger with the option of dropping back?

You couldn't afford Clarke and Weaver in the same team IMO. Unless of course you had a naff import on your third line.....

Or the import quota really has been reduced to 9 which is what ive been hearing Surely it'd have been announced early doors had that been the case, seeing as teams are already recruiting imports... Personally, 9 imports at this stage would kill the league. There aren't enough good Brits to hold the league afloat. With Neil, Cooke, Ferrara (all possible) Richardson, Meyers and Myers(?) you have enough good players coming through rather than splashing the cash at the big boys. Given time, the James' could have a breakthrough season ala Owen, Hewitt and Meyers. Of course, a Weaver in every team would be a bonus...

From what I'm hearing it's a bit of a bidding war between you & the Steelers with the Vipers & Manchester also talking to him.
He was big mates with Matsus when he played with Vipers so that may go in your favor.
1 thing to bear in mind, Weaver lives in Ayr.......

weaver will put the puck in the net 15 to 20 times a season, but will also add another load of assist something clarkie can't do.
i'd rather play against clarke than weaver

I agree Clarkeys got a great shot but he disappears in big games IMO and his first couple of months carry him through the season. Hes a quality player but I just think Weaves brings more to the plate. There were other players who could find the net last season but Clarke was the sniper and they suffered as a result (Cards and Petricko to name 2 good examples). I know Petricko was always dubbed the playmaker but he can score lots of goals when given opportunity

Of course Clarke will get more goals-he is a forward, weaves a D. Why you would think of playing weaves as a winger now is beyond me. Although we have offered captain fantastic a contract, I have a horrible feeling Shields will be his replacement. Can't imagine being able to afford Lobby, Shields and Weaves with a decent set of imports. So who ever stumps up the cash really. Also heard he was pretty close to coventry...

Only goals & assists, no PP or SH stats. The first (Cardiff) is the play off final. Opponent | Goals | Assists | Cardiff | 1 | 0 | Belfast | 0 | 0 | Sheffield | 0 | 0 | Sheffield | 0 | 1 | Edinburgh | 0 | 0 | Hull | 1 | 0 | Basingstoke | 1 | 0 | Belfast | 1 | 0 | Edinburgh | 0 | 1 | Basingstoke | 0 | 0 | Manchester | 0 | 2 | Sheffield | 0 | 0 | Newcastle | 0 | 1 | Belfast | 2 | 1 | Coventry | 0 | 3 | Coventry | 0 | 0 | Cardiff | 1 | 1 | Sheffield | 0 | 0 | Hull | 2 | 1 | Sheffield | 1 | 0 | Newcastle | 0 | 2 | Manchester | 0 | 2 | Coventry | 1 | 1 | Edinburgh | 1 | 1 | Basingstoke | 1 | 1 | Cardiff | 0 | 0 | Hull | 0 | 0 | Manchester | 3 | 0 | Cardiff | 0 | 0 | Belfast | 1 | 0 | Cardiff | 1 | 0 | Sheffield | 0 | 0 | Newcastle | 0 | 0 | Newcastle | 0 | 0 | Basingstoke | 1 | 0 | Cardiff | 0 | 1 | Hull | 0 | 0 | Manchester | 2 | 0 | Newcastle | 1 | 0 | Newcastle | 0 | 1 | Basingstoke | 0 | 0 | Sheffield | 1 | 0 | Sheffield | 0 | 0 | Coventry | 0 | 0 | Sheffield | 1 | 0 | Hull | 0 | 0 | Manchester | 1 | 0 | Edinburgh | 0 | 1 | Belfast | 3 | 0 | Hull | 0 | 0 | Cardiff | 1 | 0 | Edinburgh | 1 | 0 | Edinburgh | 1 | 1 | Manchester | 1 | 0 | Basingstoke | 3 | 1 | Belfast | 1 | 1 |
