I think he's gone you know... There's been plenty of rumblings this season about him moving away and his glum face at the end just summed it up for me!

I wouldn't like to guess either way, or give opinion on the matter. But for the sake of argument who would be most likely candidate as his successor?
Calle seems the natural choice ...

I thought he looked decidedly subdued to say what had happened If you compare his reaction to when we won the Challenge Cup,he didn`t seem half as happy did he?

Could Calle do the GM job? Remember its not just grabbing a mic at fan events. Its all the business side of things. I think GM has done ok this year now he has been out of the limelight a while.

his job runs itself anyway. you could have calle running the team affairs instead and someone already at the club to do admin, not hard really is it. he did seem a bit more upbeat today though

Have a bit of compassion here. It's a bitter sweet moment for the bloke. His team finally wins the playoffs after years of disappointment, but at the cost of his son losing his place on the team 2 months beforehand. He' bound to have mixed emotions. Those with kids playing competative sport will know what I mean.

There's far more to running the Panthers than the bits the fans see, and in my opinion, he's done a pretty decent job of it.

hear hear. He's consistently had the club making a profit for a number of years, which is no mean feat in British hockey.

I think he's gone you know... There's been plenty of rumblings this season about him moving away and his glum face at the end just summed it up for me! There is a possibility that he was thinking Paul could have been part of it all. IIRC he had the chance to go to Bracknell and then return for the play-offs, right? Not saying you are wrong Newham, you could be on the money and I could be way off the mark, but there is always another possibility.

"I have been a part of getting us to the top of the tree with our first Championship in 18 years, there is nothing that can top that and I'm going to pursue other opportunities."
I can hear this line already as the cover for his departure if what you guys are saying is true.

jeez, that comment wound people up! simply meant that there must be other people at the club doing specific jobs - admin, finance, sponsorship etc and the club would not end if one guy leaves. Tony Johnson ran the club, he left and it survived, Trevor Gaunt from Hooleys ran it, he left, the club survived etc etc. If he stays great, if he goes the club is big enough move on.
