why has he got it wrong?
he said its either lyle and drouin, or (not and) the 35 year old netty. which to me is pretty much right
I love the comment about womens ice hockey in there lol. think it was slightly tounge in cheek, but he does have a point, there always a lack of ice time during this time of year so why not play during the summer. eg rec and womens.

Aye, i can understand why the likes of Shaggy really take offence to the bloke but he's harmless enough. The roles of GM and Simms are the pantomime baddy if you ask me. They play the role to sell tickets but underneath they would probably go for a pint or two. Personally, i'm surprised that nobody from Belfast have really made a name for themselves like Simms and GM have They will now Kelman has been appointed, just wait for the summer

he probably did it deliberately just to wind panthers fans up. He knows his role as PR is just to bring attention to the sport, etc and if everything he says is perfectly true nobody would listen. i think what he says he deliberate and calculated just to see how we and others react.

Simms is good at his job. Got plenty of time for the bloke. He and GM get on fine. Steelers and Panthers have a good working relationship which is why they work together to ensure they get the fixtures they want.
It amazes me that some still believe all the Steelers and Panthers hype.
That's not to say some (ie long-term) Panthers fans don't have good reasons to dislike them.

I ve spoke to the bloke a few times, I haven t got a problem with him at all. He ll always chat to you no matter who you support, we had a bit of banter in the marquee bar the other week, all good fun. granted, he has said some daft things over the years, but lets face it, british hockey wouldn t be as entertaining without him.

fair comments by pidge and nick, but there is no need for sexist remarks, there has to be a line somewhere, i take everything he says with a pinch of salt and dont really bother reading his powerplay article but just found the remarks he made as crossing the line.
there are girls on the tema i play for and god they work hard, and are great players, there are quite a few on here as well, this sport needs to deveop on all levels, not just the mens game, look at womans football, its growing in poularity and its helping the sport grow, opens up a whole new fanbse. correct me if im wrong but the ENL's Peterborough Isalnders nettie is a lass.

MK Thunder and Basingstoke Buffalo also have women goalies. Vicky Robbins, in 6 games for the Buffalo, has a 4.67 GAA but a respectable 87.72% SAV - she faces on average 38 shots per game. Kim Taylor for the Buffalo, on the other hand, has been a backup for most of the season, which probably explains her 4.96 GAA and 84.12% SAV - she faces on average 31 shots/game. As Petricko#28 pointed out, Peatboghorror Islanders' starter is Kelly Herring. Her brother is an outskater for them too. Kelly's GAA is the highest of the three women at 5.03, but her SAV of 86.32% and shots/game average of 36.75 place her in the middle of Robbins and Taylor.

87% aint respectable for anyone surely? The buffalo defence must be dreadful though Raven?

87% aint respectable for anyone surely? The buffalo defence must be dreadful though Raven? The Buffalo have hit a rough patch recently, due to playing their two fixtures against Invicta and Streatham in quick succession and as a result dropping out of the playoff positions. Basingstoke are a decent ENIHL side and IMO if they pick it up they could make third place, but it'll be tough. Vicky Robbins' teammate, Craig Astill, is ahead of her, having played one game fewer but has a GAA of 3.4 and a SAV of 89.51%. However Basingstoke have scored 79 and conceded 52 in their 12 games. Only Invicta (103/13 games) and Streatham (83/12 games) have scored more then them and those teams plus Swindon are the only ones to concede fewer. The top four goalies in the league (Sylvester and Tanner, formerly of Invicta now Streatham, and Rowlands and Dollin of Invicta) are the only ones with a SAV of over 90%, which as a layman I would consider the general benchmark for a great goalie. That's probably why those two teams are making the division a two-horse race. Generally I believe Vicky Robbins to be a dependable backup, but on the basis of her stats I don't think she could be a definite starter.

Simmsy has very good links with womens hockey in certain areas i believe and any woman hockey player who knows him wouldnt have taken offence at his comments.
