David Clarke has followed in the skatesteps of some of the great names from Panthers' past. Unusually for one of the 'low' numbers, most of these players were/are forwards.
1980/81 Mark Kasun 1981/82 Mark Kasun 1982/83 Dave Rapley 1983/84 Greg McDonald 1984/85 Greg McDonald, Robin Andrew, James Hunt 1985/86 Jamie Crapper 1986/87 Robin Andrew 1987/88 Mark Goldby, Matt Flint 1988/89 Mark Goldby 1989/90 John Flavill 1990/91 John Flavill 1991/92 John Flavill 1992/93 Selmar Odelein, Mark Roberts 1994/95 Garth Premak 1995/96 Garth Premak 1996/97 Garth Premak 1997/98 Garth Premak 2000/01 Duncan Paterson 2001/02 Patrik Wallenberg 2003/04 David Clarke 2004/05 David Clarke

Thanks for that cc. Not much reaction to these threads so far so I'm glad to know they are being enjoyed.

I'm certainly enjoying them Stef - keep up the good work. It's fascinating to get these glimpses back down through the history of Panthers and British hockey. Much has changed over the years yet some of the core values seem the same.

Here, here.
Garth Premak; class act. On and off the ice, Garth had class in abundance. Together with his wife, Laura, one of the nicest couples to be involved with the Panthers. At a time when the sport in this country was becoming overrun with pay-check players, Garth was one of the last, IMO to really understand the Panthers ethos of old. I think it was him who played his first few games in blue, rather than black shorts causing him to stick out like a sore thumb. Foiled many a 2 on 1 breakaway and handed out a memorable pasting to a young, mouthy, Michael Tasker.

stayed a season or two too long imho but when he joined us a more than adequate replacement for the great Selmar Selmar.... Real shame about roberts too, started the season on fire and got an injury which turned him into a shadow of his former self
