I've been in and around roller hockey for many years, having started off the Rollersnakes Club and organised the Midlands Leagues for many years.
I've been keeping an eye on this section of the Forum, as I'm always interested in finding out about clubs and teams in the process of forming .... I see lots of you to-ing and fro-ing with messages but I am confused as to who exactly is organising you ..... and if you play proper games.
Do you belong to new clubs, and who organises your games? I live a couple of miles from Chilwell Olympia (where Rollersnakes started many moons ago) and I would be interested in coming along to watch a proper game, not a knock about....
Can anyone advise ?

Hi, the Nottingham Bulls have had a few proper games, we've had a few proper games against Chilwell and Calverton. The Nottingham Bulls is mainly ice hockey players who wanted to play roller hockey! To say that we've only been going a couple of months, we've won nearly all our games. We will probably have a game against Chilwell at Chilwell Olympia soon, and I'll let you know. Hope this helps, Becky

Calverton are just a bunch of kids that wanna play hockey, its either me or Duffy that organise there matches.
Chilwell are the same really, there manager (Ceebee) normally organised there matches aswell, although they do have a better commitee then Calverton.

none of the three teams mentioned are proper roller hockey teams as such. All of them just want to play, there's a wide range of ages playing and speaking on behalf of the Bulls, we literally are just a group of friends who wanted to play roller hockey for something to do and for the fun but make a team and play Calverton who have been running for a while now. As far as I'm aware none of us are playing in a league and this is why we're making a tournament so there's something to play for between the three sets of teams.

We have played 4 proper games so far 3 against calverton and 1 against chilwell and are due to start a 3 team league at the weekend after easter I believe we (nottingham bullz) are away at chilwell on Saturday 29th of April if you wanted to see a game. The main organisers are Ceebee at chilwell, kilner at Calverton and coach craig at bullz. Hope this helps.

If you folk want to play another type of game indoors but without the skates (Gym Hockey) there are teams about who have reformed at times since it started in 1984. A good way of keeping fit running the gym.Played in limited kit with ice-hockey stick and puck(plastic)......recently a team in Eastwood played Arnold I believe and a game may be on on April 7th? Friday? At a well known leisure centre. Wish I could remember now. Portland or WEst Bridgford I think.

the floor is rubish there its like the arena but bigger I don't like the arena floor But then again if we train on that, playing on a "normal" floor will be easy ;D Like playing hockey with one of Paul's orange pucks, makes the normal one seem easy
