Today my dad took me up to sheffield to buy the last 2 bits of kit i need to finesh off my grades (Shorts and body armour) We tryed 2 places: The shop at ice sheffield and this place called 'puck stop.' The place at ice sheffield was small not a great deal of kit. not very welcoming as you walk in. But at 'puck stop' the shelves are stacked full of kit. They stock all the kit for each kind of hockey. It is quite cheap, the staff are so helpful giving their true opinion not just trying to sell it to you kwick so they can get onto a next costumer. As you walk in you are asked straight away what you are looking for and they either direct you where to go or bring the kit to you. Anyone buying kit should pay it a visit or see thier website at www.puckstop.com. It is a new wbsite and not all the products have pictures yet but the postage is only £6.00. Check it out it's well worth the trip S.G.

I went there today to get my skates sharpened. Ive been going there for quite a while now, its really good. They know what they are on about and will help you out the best they can. The prices are good, and if they dont have what you want, then just ask them and they will get it in stock within a couple of days.

It took them about five minutes, they did it while i waited. They do them really good, and they do them just how you want them if you ask them.

Ok BJ here goes. Drive past Arena past ice sheffield you then come to some traffic lights at don valley go straight on you are now in seedy attercliffe Carry on for about 2 mins then you will then come to a junction with traffic lights turn left. You then want to carry up that road (Staniforth road) and the shop is about 200-300 yards on the right. If you need them done urgently leave them with me on Wedensday and i'll get them done for you but obviously you wouldn't be able to get them back until the following wedensday. Jon

The NIC do fit T-blades for you, but you will probably have to wait about a week. But at puck stop they will do it while you wait. Be carefull with T-blades though, as they break quite easy.

It is good getting your skates sharpened from Puck stop as i used to get them done every time before we played Sheffield. However i think it is much better getting them done by the Panthers kit man, as he is a pro at this stuff.

Best hockey shop in the UK. To the person wanting to fit the T-Blade system. I wouldnt recommend them if you are wanting to play hockey in them. Way too fragile a base and as has been mentioned they shatter far too easily. Ok for session bashers and posers though.

And what do you think the panthers kit man gets paid to do?
He must be better at this sort of thing than the people at Puck stop as otherwise panthers would get their skates sharpened by these people.

Who cares who's better at sharpening skates lol Panthers kit man must be good otherwise, why would Panthers hire him and pay his wages. Puckstop is the best shop in the UK and there service is also the best.

So i will carry on getting my skates sharpened by the professional kit man who does panther skates!!
And you can take the long trek to puck stop and get some other person to sharpen your skates..
And how much is it?

No answer as yet, but its horses for courses obviously.
Puck Stop have been sharpening skates for years, as has your kit man. Both make a good living out of it so why should one be better than the other? Both have their inconveniences, both have their conveniences. So why is one better than the other?
