Interesting .... will be good if it works I reckon ....
* * * New Recreational Ice Hockey League! * * *
Finally there’s a rec hockey league for the whole UK – the RIHL or "The REC". Starting January 2006 all enrolled rec teams will compete for points, awards and The Rec Cup.
Hockey For Everyone
---------------------
There’s actually two leagues.
§ The Bigs is for skilled rec hockey players who are looking for best-of-class rec hockey competition.
§ Rookies & Relics is a non-contact league for those who are new to the game or are looking for less competitive play.
League Play
------------
Your team can play any other RIHL registered team in the UK for points and stats. Fancy a weekend of hockey in Scotland or London? Go for it!
All the Stats
--------------
What’s hockey without stats? After each game sheet is filed your personal and team stats will be on the web. Plus, separate stats will be kept for playoffs.
Playoffs
--------
Potentially there’s over 60 rec teams in the UK to compete for The Rec Cups (The Bigs and Rookie & Relics leagues). Teams who miss or are eliminated from the playoffs will compete in the Consolation round.
All Star Game & Awards
-----------------------
A nice way to wrap up the season, the All Start Game will feature the best players in the league as part of an Awards evening.

Rec hockey players always have something to say to the officials - so let's hear from you!

Don’t get caught for Delay of Game!
------------------------------------
Deadline to enter your team is Dec 31st! Register your team and try it out for January with absolutely no obligation. If you like it, pay your team fees by Feb and keep playing!
Bring it On!
