that aside, has anyone heard of 'red sparrows'? Yes amazing band! Saw them last year in Sheffield and seeing them again this year! Buster you seem to have good taste! Have seen Isis 3 times now and they just get better and better. You a fan of Neurosis as well? At the moment my CD player and Ipod are churning out Converge, Foals, Every Time I Die, Godspeed You Black Emporer!, Pelican, Led Zep and Jeff Buckley. *Shameless self promotion alert!!* myspace.com/thehumblehoax ;D

cheers ginger, i love so many different types of music but im a rock lad at heart.
yeah i like both isis and nuerosis, though i prefer the instrumental sound of red sparowes to either of them. whats this about a sheffield date?
today i have been listening to more of The Boss in preperation for next months gig and also a bit of bob dylan. dylan was the man.

beg to differ dylans inspiration was tom paxton, joan byez, willie dixon type and to be honest since his blood on the tracks sell out, have not rated him since, now if you want the man try either john lennon or david bowie, true legends!

Got Squarepushers album other day. Wicked stuff on their. Also listening to Kid A and Amensiac alot lately, awesome music on those albums. I don't understand how people call it 'weird' music then again those kind of people call Jo and Twiggy real DJ's.
Also been pricking my ears to the Pixes and Silverchair! happy Days.

Really like the last offering by silverchair 'young modern' certainly a long way from the angry silverchair thar did 'Frogstomp'! gutted i missed them at rock city back in august. only have the album 'dolittle' by pixies, like it a lot.

silverchair are possibly the worst band i have ever had the misfortune to witness.
i've seen them twice, and the second time (after giving them a second chance) only confirmed my thoughts.

no, thats the point, i am a fan (of the earlier stuff), they were just gash live. maybe an off show or just not what you wanted from a band, i have seen silverchair over 20 times, (my first ever gig was seeing them on thier frogstomp tour) and i can tell you, that gig they did last year at rock city, was a tight as a nats ass for a band! Daniel Johns is a great guitar player and even better front man. they went through a dodgy patch of live performances (neon ballroom) when Johns was suffering from illness.... but to say they are a bad live band is not justified i believe.

I am off to see the 'Buena Vista Social Club' for the 2nd time, tomorrow evening. My wife is an obsessive of all things Cuban, & persuaded me to go with her last time. They were beyond incredible, it's a cliched thing to say, but the music really did move me. I didn't need any arm twisting to go again tomorrow. Music genre doesn't matter to me one bit, I likes what I likes.

Two weeks ago I bought the new Whitesnake cd " Good To Be Bad", I stuck it in the player in the car and there it has stayed. It is IMO the most powerful Whitesnake release ever. David Coverdale is in good form, although his voice has altered slightly since the eighties, his songs certainly haven't. Guitar player and co-writer Doug Aldrich definately knows how a Whitesnake song should sound, and is an excellent musician in his own right. Check out his website and discography. Anyone who has ever been a Whitesnake/David Coverdale fan should love this cd.

I had listened to snippets of it on I-Tunes, & now solely based on YOUR word, I have invested in it. Just listening to it now. So far, so good! (Just the thing to get ya in the mood for Buena Vista Social Club! )

Anyone who has ever been a Whitesnake/David Coverdale fan should love this cd. It's more 1987 than Ready An' Willing, so if you were only a fan of the earlier bluesy stuff perhaps not. Personally I totally agree though Grumpy, great record.

I'm off to the Slam Dunk Festival at Leeds uni this Sunday and cannot wait!
Not sure if anyone will have heard of it but it's excellent value for money if you're into that sort of music. Its all pop-punk, alternative style music (You me at six, Cute is what we aim for, Red jumpsuit apparatus; to name a few).
Really looking forward to seeing Red Jumpsuit! Some of their stuff is often played at NHL matches in the US.

I saw a band called Today is the Day last night.
I have not been blown away by a band like that for quite a while. So loud, so noisy and absolutely amazing.
