... a German band called Can ... Are you familiar with Julian Cope's Krautrocksampler? If Can are your thing, you'll probably find more stuff there that will do it for you. Details will be somewhere on headheritage.co.uk.

incubus went toilet after the album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Enjoy had mad skills on it Don't be daft. Make Yourself and Morning View were excellent albums. alot of the fans of their early stuff share my sentiments. make yourself was your radio friendly rock and morning view was almost pop. a country mile away from their musical roots and material they originally put out. after enjoy and s.c.i.e.n.c.e. they went toilet.

S.C.I.E.N.C.E and enjoy were amazing, set them apart from every other band around at the time.... the stuff after that sounds like any other rock band....especially the new stuff now... i blame it all on the departure of the bassist. i saw Incubus play rock city basement on a student night... cost me a Quid! amazing gig! needless to say it was just as science was released. just after they had supported Korn on their uk tour

i missed both the Korn date and the gig you went to, Lee. i'd have paid well over the odds to see them in their prime. i saw them on the make yourself tour, which was great, but they were already moving away from the 'good' sound so many people liked.
i'd find it interesting to play people incubus' latest single (i heard it in the SU the other day and its absolutely shameful) and then let them listen to anything off fungus/enjoy/s.c.i.e.n.c.e. Its sad to say, but those are two very different bands. not only do i agree with you about kutash? (sp?) leaving, but also DJ Lyfe. while Kilmore is more than competant, his sound is too different to his predecessor.

A few people agreeing with you doesn't make you right fella. Personally, i don't mind a little bit of pop rooting as long as they kept along their own path in the process. Morning View saw them reaching their potential for me, some ridiculously funky songs.

Morning View was a delightful record with a band finding their potential.

Newton Faulkner is playing the royal concert hall in March next year. for anyone who is interested.
on another note, what the hell has happened to rock city? they used to get all the good metal bands on there, not seen a decent one tour there in about 3 years!

Depends on your definition of "decent"... I saw Airbourne there last year and quite enjoyed that. (Also Joe Bonamassa, but he's a blues man...)

(Also Joe Bonamassa, but he's a blues man...) no i'm not saying they don't get any at all now (maybe i should have worded it better) but there was a time when bands playing "indie" music would have not been seen on a rock city bill. if they were they would have been sandwiched between bands like killswitch engage, chaimara, machine head, trivium, lamb of god, the haunted, and so on.... now it seems that the genre has shifted and these type of bands are steering clear of Nottingham, or when the do play they are sandwiched between a number of middle of the road bands. such as editors, bloc party, Biffy Clyro, the answer... and most disgustingly! Dizzee Rascal for fudges sake!!!

Nah, were they funny?
Did go to that Loaded gig (Duff McKagan's band), as mentioned by Alan on the previous page. Cracking show that was, despite a low turnout.

I went to see Steel Panther. They put on a very entertaining show, yes they were funny, but they are also very good musicians. Satchel's guitar solo was well over the top, then he went and stood behind the drumkit and started bashing out rhythms on the bassdrum while playing the lead breaks or intros to famous songs like "The Trooper", "Breaking The Law" and "Sweet Child O'Mine", I have seen thousands of bands and hundreds of guitar solos but that was a first.
Also, a roadie walked on stage slid a pair of green rimmed sunglasses onto the face of singer Michael Starr. Satchel then old him he looked like "a fat David Lee Roth". Starr denied this and an on-stage argument followed. the bass player and drummer calmed the situation before Starr stated that he was not "a fat David Lee Roth but more of a slim Vince Neil"
Highlight of the night was the Lexxi Foxxx hair solo.
I was surprised and impressed and I certainly recommend anyone who likes a bit of fun with their rock music and can put up with the outrageously sexist lyrics, to go see this band next time they are on tour.

Has anyone on here invested in the album by Them Crooked Vultures? If so is it any good?
It certainly should be with David Grohl, john Paul jones and Joshua Homme as the line up.

whats the big buzz about them crooked vultures? i dont get it. is it just because they have dave and josh in them?
they have the midas touch between them. doesnt necessarily mean they are good though. care to give me an insight/recommend tracks to help me understand the fuss?
*edit*
john paul jones? wtf?
they still sound average in my opinion, but that last little nugget blew my mind!
