Have they said how Vallerand is? Looked a nasty injury yesterday. Fox said in the postgame interview that he was done for the weekend.

Looking like a costly 5 minute boarding penalty for Printz, 2-0 Sheffield.
Hope that call was correct.

Looking like a costly 5 minute boarding penalty for Printz, 2-0 Sheffield. Hope that call was correct. Looked a definite boarding, but the Steelers looked on his way down (live at the arena). I'd love to know what led to the upgrade. Although perhaps this is just the annual reminder of why Refs wear Orange stripes...

"Rule 41.3 The Referee, at their discretion, may assess a Major Penalty to a Player guilty of “boarding” an opponent, and who recklessly endangers the fouled Player in a way that at the discretion of the Referee such Player would not be sufficiently sanctioned by imposing a Minor Penalty."
There's a lot of referee leeway in boarding penalties. Fairly unusual to have a major for boarding without a game.
Did they review it, as per the groovy new video available? NEW FOR FINALS WEEKEND: Major Penalties (Game officials must call a Major/2+2 (High Sticking) and then review it. Upon review may uphold the original call, reduce to a "minor, or remove the penalty entirely)"

Steelers win and complete the grand slam. Congratulations to them, best team by far this year.
Shame that mystery goal on Flashscores wasn't legit though.

Live I thought the 5 was fair. Having seen a replay it appeared very harsh.

Having seen a replay, I think it was harsh and completely changed the game. That said Steelers were the best team this season and made the most of their chance.

Steelers always controlled the last period and would probably have upped a gear if Belfast scored. Belfast huffed and puffed but didn't have the players to match what has turned out to be a quite exceptionally skilled team this season.

Even more impressive when only 11 of the Steelers's skaters played over 15 minutes in the final. One thing I did notice is that Tansey is a big lad who throws himself about, you wouldn't want to be a forward with him there.

That Steelers defence was very, very good yesterday. Not a single weak link and I was particularly impressed with the Diffley/Saucerman pairing.

Was it the usual dull as dishwater DJ playing the same playlist he has for the last 10+ years?

Was it the usual dull as dishwater DJ playing the same playlist he has for the last 10+ years? I don’t think it was the choice of music that was so much of an issue (you know people like/expect certain things with it being playoffs) it was the fact the songs were cut off, moments of silence etc that I found quite jarring.

Was it the usual dull as dishwater DJ playing the same playlist he has for the last 10+ years? Yes. Darren whatshisface. I'd happily have Ken but it's already seen as unfair that it's in our barn every year. Adding Ken would just add to the narative of bias. For me, I also like the fact it's different. As the only ones who have to keep coming to our own building I like it to feel as different as possible to normal.

I was mystified by the DJ announcing every goal, as soon as it happened, before Stef gets to announce the actual scorers and all that. "And there's the first and equalising goal for the Steelers. Where are the Steelers fans?" etc. Adds nothing, to me at least.
