So from one bad performance you’d just give up on them as a lost cause. Anyone who thought that a team with a brand new coach and 18ish brand new players to integrate all at once without any teething problems is kidding themselves. This was a terrible performance of that there is no dispute. Let’s just be thankful that it was a CC game and hope they have the ability and determination to put it right but to give up on it as a bad job after just 3 competitive games when wholesale changes have been made and necessarily so isn’t right The loss against the storm wasn’t the best either. Panthers have an average team, I want that to change, but it won’t. These type of performances have happened more and more recently. Reminded me of the GG team and setup. I want them to prove me wrong. They just looked so weak tonight, boys vs men. Let’s hope they don’t perform like that again this season. Imo they are 4 players that aren’t good. If they prove me wrong, brilliant, I’d love that. Genuinely I would. I want us to be at the top of the league. I just don’t see it though with this squad The issue you get is that if that continues at £27 a ticket you won’t get many in. Last season was a disaster , the previous one too. Just seems like we aren’t learning from the mistakes.

Usually in defeat, you can draw some positives.
From this, I saw none. There were no redeeming factors in this.
I accept that a team needs time to gel, but you’d have thought these lads have never met before tonight on that performance.
You’d hope / expect some aggression through frustration of being crap - but we didn’t even get that.
Johnson clearly has some talent, but trying to do it all isn’t the answer.

I love supporting the club but I didn’t go tonight due to work and disdain for the cup but I’m glad I couldn’t go, which is worrying.
We’ve got a game tomorrow which does mean a lot more than tonight’s, so hopefully Paredes can pull the team together and focus them towards victory.
In the meantime, Pacha must find two additional players with size, power and aggression, add them to the players we have and see if performances improve

What a total farce this turned out to be. Passes went to Squealers players regularly. Constantly being knocked off the puck, the Lions would have put up more resistance. Goalie hung out to dry by an absent D. The only visible tactic was to panic and dump but not chase, a method that has never paid dividends for us. And that was the first two periods, I can't comment on the third as I walked out in disgust after the 5th goal. As stated by others, absolutely no positives to be taken from this. It's certainly the last time I waste money on non-ST games.

I’m not from Nottingham and only started going to games years ago quite by accident and I can’t understand how people keep going week after week and year after year to watch crap like that. We’ve only been to one season ticket game so far (wouldn’t even consider going to non season ticket games anymore) and already we are debating not going to another game this season. To be honest the whole thing creeps me out now. Lunatic happy clappers weeing themselves watching drivel like that, people seeing “studs” when all I’m seeing is a bunch of second rate losers, “encouraging signs” when all I can see is the reincarnation of the Edinburgh Capitals (but all in the same shirt) and a whole queue of incompetent crap coaches so useless that NO other team in the league would give a job to taping sticks.
Excuses constantly wheeled out, loads of new players, the next new coach, and I’m not really sure what I’m watching. The fact is (unfortunately if you support the Nottingham Panthers) it’s a crap organisation that’s impossibly badly run watched be crowds of people who are VERY easily pleased. It’s a bit like the guy who bought the crap car who defends it to his mates constantly.
We watched the webcast last night with tears running down our cheeks laughing. God that was awful and life is WAY too short and that just isn’t even sport anymore.
BTW, some may think that Pasha is the new messiah, personally I think he is David Brent in disguise. Bloody useless.

Really don't know what to say after such a weak and humiliating display. No longer enjoy the game. Honestly believe that our owner ( and past saviour ) has simply lost interest in the Club. On and off the ice the Club appears to be living on past glories. Ice hockey, particularly in Nottingham, no longer represents value for money entertainment. The "whole thing" is broken and I'm not sure it will ever be mended.

Steelers 2nd goal is a perfect example of where we don’t have the ability to match teams on the physical side of the game.
Seemingly make the right play to separate Vallerand from the puck, event to the point where he lost his footing yet it is our player who was sent off into the ether and leaving Vallerand all the time and space to regain his footing and make the play leading to a tap in.
We need to be stronger I don’t think there is any doubt in that at all, Manchester figured that out last week, Steelers (who look very good this year) did the same.
I hope we learn, and learn quickly to make some adjustments so we can regain a level of competitiveness we did show in preseason.

Totally agree with Flying Shirt, what’s happening Panthers you are a big club playing year in year out like poo, your fans deserve better your club is run so amateurish it’s untrue. When the hell are you going to get a coach that has a clue what he is talking about, and some recruiting knowledge, it’s untrue as a outsider to see a very big club acting with very small intentions. We need a strong league but you guys are so far off the mark it’s a shambles, sorry to rant but your fans deserve so much better if you were a small club you wouldn’t be around now, and that’s a fact get a grip for heavens sake.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of the fans actually enjoy the fake underdog role now. It's a weird type of masochism coupled with unquestioned hero worship and a dance cam. From talking to people at the first game they seem to smile and expect to lose so really they are being catered for perfectly. Nottingham hasn't been an ice hockey town for many years now.

Nice to see a well set up team, good d and f, solid netminder and good physical play. Shame it was the Steelers. 13, 19, 17 and 7 would be first out the door for me really haven’t been impressed with Ryczek so far he looks like this year’s version of Lagrone. I liked Lemay in pre season but he was completely ineffective last night.

As much as I like the (royalty free) orchestral version of Paint It Black as the intro music may I suggest a bit of Talking Heads Road To Nowhere as an alternative ....

Myers won more last season. Since we won the lot on 2013 it’s been a steady decline

This isnt about one loss although that being said being humiliated by steelers at home tends to focus the mind, this is about panthers lack of effort since the grandslam, and the club giving the impression since then that the job has been done and fans just need to be grateful.
Tbh if this had happened even at this early stage at our rivals i.e. those that want to win the league, changes eg upgrades would be made, all we have had since the GS has been excuses and procrastination untill such time it is too late.... even this early stage it feels more of the same....

I'm seeing the words 'pushed off' and 'soft' mentioned quite a bit..
It was like I never mentioned "we need size and the team was too small" when the team was getting recruited over the summer and those 30+ years of watching the sport in this country were all for nothing eh..

Size means nothing, if your 5ft ginger from Scotland and someone has a go at you.......
Its the bloody grit that is missing 6-0 at Home is a bloody disgrace no matter the team, the only out is its for the Noddy cup however this has knock on team confidence.

What is hard to fathom is that Pacha has been in this league for years and he too was a nasty little player that everyone hated, he knows what is needed to succeed in this league so why hasn't he signed that type of player. We have the skill but no one to 'police' the ice, we are constantly knocked off the puck. On a separate note & something Flying Shirt mentioned above, this venue is for a Saturday night out its in the centre of Nottingham with easy access, on Saturday night we had a whole row behind us in block 14 who hadn't got a bloody clue what was going off or even who they had come to see. The two girls behind were absolutely bladdered and spent the whole match screaming with another bunch behind, I'm surprised she didn't fall down the stairs and injure herself she even shouted why we didn't score a goal on an open net when Sheffield goalie went off for a penalty.. This is a regular occurrence this last few years with people coming in for the start of a Saturday night out on the lash, and to some extent there lies the problem because the crowds keep coming.

He has admitted he likes mobile fast skating teams The primary reason Pacha was brought to Nottingham wasn't his ability to put good teams on the ice, it was his business marketing degree & the fact he built up the crowds in Dundee year on year. You'd be amazed at the amount of easily entertained non season ticket holders who buy platinum seats at £38 each or thereabouts each in block 15... There seem to be plenty of them who think it's worth the money too 🙈

Don't blame them .. it was always going to happen when the arena got built where it did. The Panthers have marketed the team for years as a 'family night out' etc. Winning and being successful isn't on the flyer

And a guy at that who is only just 6ft... Rumour is there's at least one 'big physical player' coming in. Hopefully that's the case, and soon.
Michaud for me is one who is far too small both in build and in height, At least Lunsjo and Neiminen have some bulk on them..

Well let's just hope it's not like last seasons solution to the need for a big forward. Fabritzio Ricci. Signed purely based on his height thinking the fans(knowledgable ones) would buy it.
