Guess they never thought of delaying sale day a few days until Friday when the arena box office is open ! Doh 🙄🙈 I guess they did. It's likely on purpose to stop the big queues and having to manage it. This works both ways. It was perceieved silly before that people would physically Queue when you could now buy online and phone. That’s probably true. But some people would rather deal with humans visibly because not every question is/can be answered. So these folk have to be held back which is unfortunate. Losing their option to get a certain seat perhaps.

I see your point but myself and Kievthegreat have stated, you can't book online for Panthers Blocks. I'm assuming that you get an email receipt and tickets will be online as well? Ive just done mine since my last post. Straight through. Yes I got a confermation email and then will get emailed tickets nearer event. I think it's the only way they could do an ST priority window for Panthers fans. Restrict those blocks online whilst 8 other teams are buying theirs online directly from today? Perhaps having an online sale, blocking non ST accounts on line but allowing ST holders to buy those same blocked seats was a step to far for the system?

The box office will be open during the ST priority window though so they'll still get good seats. They probably should've opened the box office the same day for a few hours for them. Perhaps 12-2. That would take the sting out of in person queueing and let them deal with the main Queue. I just got my perfect seats ringing at about 10.30. Demand is probably still well down now too will a fair few ST fans having gone.

Got my ticket, relatively painless, got a good sear, just don't like giving my bank details over the phone.

I got mine not long before you, still got good seats too. Thing with the ST window is there is no reason they couldn't have emailed each ST holder a code to input when buying tickets or some similar system. I think they should have other avenues open as well as some fans would rather purchase in person or talking to a human, but excluding the most convenient and least labour intensive way seems a bit silly to me.

Once upon a time our entire allocation would be gone in hours just to season ticket holders who queued up overnight. General sale started today, ive just looked and I could have bought 4 seats together on Row S of block 15. How times change eh?

Tickets have gone on sale a lot earlier this time around so even season ticket holders may be waiting out, plus it’s not a foregone conclusion that we’ll be at the weekend with how we’re playing. If we get to the weekend though, I don't think there will be a spare ticket in the Panther’s blocks

You can select your own seat on the arena website now that individual day tickets are on sale. I think the league will be praying that either Nottingham or Sheffield get there as it hasn’t sold well at all

The other part of me hopes it makes the league really think about changing to a play off series if they arn't getting the cahs they need from this.

Bar the two teams having a very good season (Giants, Flames), there's plenty of seats available in all blocks. As you say though, if we somehow get there a few more might at least buy up for the semi final day. It's a lot of money for 3 games in a different town, especially if your team's unlikely to be there.

In all honesty I can’t recall them saying that single day tickets would be sold at a later date. If they didn’t, then I’d say it is a reaction to poor ticket sales

Good....perhaps after two poor POFW years and a fan survey they’ll finally have a rethink about play off and cup formats.

And that's perhaps why it was useful to fill in. www.pointstreaksites.com/view/eliteicehockey/latest-news/news_498183Whilst I don't want to get all factual, day tickets were available in January in 2018, which was the last play off weekend before last year's. The play off format has been a weekend at a single venue every year I've been a fan, which is 30+. Almost every fan I can think of has literally known nothing else. Why does it need rethinking?

Just because it's the only thing they've ever done doesn't mean it's the right way to do it.

Yeah it used to be a good weekend but I meant the whole one bad game, even one real bad period and your play offs are over format. They should at least trial a best of 3 quarter finals. Every year I can remember you could buy single day tickets from the the start. Not sure you could do that last year or this.

Arena teams aren't going to book dates for games that may not happen, which will incur costs.
Also serieses would have to be over within a reasonable time too.
What if Disney On Ice had several consecutive dates?
Just not feasible

What if Disney On Ice had several consecutive dates? Just not feasible Firstly Disney on Ice is booked months in advance so I doubt that won't make any difference. Secondly they shouldn't be occuring any costs if they have to cancel a date providing another booking was needed on the same night. You can't tell me the arena is booked up 7 nights a week and they can't find ONE Extra date *if required? The lack of ice time never has and never will wash with me. it's just a easy excuse not to try out the format.

I think with the debacle of last year and people voting with their feet they've realised you can put all that money to good use elsewhere. We didn't go last year out of protest, the first time missing in 20 years, I missed being with all our friends together on one row as its a damn good weekend so I threw a playoff party at home and we watched it on the tv. This year it hasn't even crossed my mind to buy tickets yet but I work for Forest and they've now got Man Utd on Sunday so that's out of the question. I just think the EIHL shot themselves in the foot with greed last year and its going to be very difficult to get that custom back now.

What if Disney On Ice had several consecutive dates? Just not feasible It’s feasible if the EIHL wanted it to be. At the last count it was about £14k a game to hire the NIC, although maybe more now. Agree to split the series revenue between the two QF teams and even if game 3 wasn’t played but they paid for the third game venue I bet they’d still be in profit. The daft thing is,they could probably play a completely dead rubber game 3 and some EIHL fans would still be daft enough to pay to turn up and watch it ! 🤣 Lol

Yes indeed and having Guildford and Belfast as two likely POFW teams isn’t going to be particularly good for ticket sales either.

I do think it’s more about money than format, a lot of people are feeling the squeeze. Fans that aren’t local probably don’t want to pay for a hotel and tickets without their team being there

The only two teams that bring in numbers is cut in half this year. If they put on a quiz, an 80’s night and a St Patrick’s day revisited perhaps it would help
