What were the lines and pairings we went for?

It was a typical Panthers VS Steelers game really, nothing to get in a twist over, once they gel, I believe that we will do teams over.
Need to work on PP, PK and Penalty Shots.
As what was said previously, it's the 1st Pre-Season game.

What were the lines and pairings we went for? I'm hopeless with stuff like this. Defensively, no idea. I think the forward lines were: Ferrara/Johnston/Puffer(?) Welsh/Anderson/Sorenson(?) Myers/Hopkins/Kelsall Hammond/Brady/Welychka (which was obvious because it worked the best straight off the bat). They'll be corrected by someone else shortly

Forward lines as noted by Yotes above.
D pairings (all left-hand shot/right-hand shot combinations) were: Lagrone-Gagnon Brassard-Moore Caruso-Summers

The better team certainly won, but their starting goalie didn’t have the best debut ever. Welychka caught the eye, he looks a real waterbug. Plenty to work on this week/tomorrow.
It’s only pre-season.

Had panthers had a better PP they would have won the game.
Anyway seemed a good run out to build fitness etc, result not important.
I.e. anyone got SOG totals lol
And the result isn't important today either

Duff PP? Some things never change… 😂
I suspect GG is waking up this morning with a million things going round his head. That’s his first taste of actual EIHL game action and his team did well to come second. Were it not for that first period, that would have been a chastening debut. Work to do, but I agree, pre-season game results don’t matter, but they do soon after. Dubeau made some great saves but may have to work on his rebounds, or get his D to. Greenfield barely had to make a save in 30 minutes.
Edit to add that it’s very rare highlights are available the morning after a game? Good work all concerned.

You wouldn’t really want to throw away another lead and lose again to them lot.

First preseason game so result not too important (another loss to Sheffield…)
Impressed with several of our new players
I thought we looked quite small for a team not intending to be bullied
I think we are going to really miss Hunt. A player like Hunt would change the whole dynamic of the team
Amazing crowd for a first preseason game
Sheffield are going to be very good

Sheffield are going to be very good Yes, if they play like that all year they will be there or thereabouts. And that was without their top line centre.

think we saw why greenfield is expected to be the best goalie in the league... sheffield struggling before he came on and a combination of players looking tired in the 3rd and his outstanding performance not letting in a single goal even penalties stole it for them... I think panthers were the better team going in to the 3rd but visibly palled imho...
As for the game pretty good game although didnt like the result, alot of potential was seen but usual weaknesses look evident, panthers going 4-2 up and steelers gooned it up as expected with no response apart from gagnon "having a word" with mcnully, this so called tough team could suffer from the same problem as last season with alot of the forwards having the same skill set and noone is the power forward or agitator role. Plus special teams on panthers side stunk and steelers looked very sharp, 1 SH goal plus 2x pp goals kept them in it.
Final point, pre season their 2 star players stole that for them, greenfield was a rock we just couldnt break and panthers held ciampini all game but he rung rings round the goalie in penalties to take the game so job done i guess, we had no finesse in the penalties and never looked like scoring, so all in all alot of things to do in the practice sessions but we do need a power forward and/or agitator otherwise we are going to look very lightweight up front... as stated shame hunt didnt make it but we need to replace him with like for like imho...

First things first, it was an entertaining game and if it’s going to be about Gary Moran, coming a close second to Sheffield is probably a suitable tribute.
Ostlund was terrible and couldn’t catch a cold, isn’t he on their MBA deal? Greenfield looks like he’ll be their Rok this year.
Biggest difference I could see was how better drilled, especially defensively, Sheffield were than Panthers. Player for Player we’re better IMO, but they knew each other and the systems far more. Asides from a few glimpses, Panthers barely put a string of passes together.
Lines will change and players will find each other’s qualities out.
Hammond looked very good. I was impressed by Lagrone, he was the standout on D for me. Caruso looked slow and not really too involved, he was one that Latal caught out. I think all the forwards had bright moments and goals won’t be in short supply. Maybe it’s the amount of centres currently trying to fit into systems defensively, I’m not sure.
Dubeau was very good, he pulled off some marvellous saves and to get 4 past him took Steelers to score some very good goals with a lot of persistence on our net.

I thought Ostlund was going to be the leagues best... Like Brust last year.. greenfield was brought in as back up.. things don't always work out as planned eh..
If chemistry is the only issue I can live with that ... Get the lines set and we'll be fine

Good players can have bad games. Bad players can have good games. Probably need a bit more time before writing him off as a failure.

In this case, it is not. I can’t remember Greenfield making a save that I commented on. Dubeau made about half a dozen.

Oh of course, the 19 shut out would show 12 for Ostlund. But under normal circumstances working it out when they changed but not dead on 40 minutes (period end) as an example, makes calculation uncertain. About the only box missing on a goal keepers stats, personal SOG tally. Another thing: Petgrave got a 2minute penalty at 60.50 in OT. The start and end time says 60.00 for both?

You can work it out from the number of saves. GKB1 on the saves column shows 8 saves. As we know he conceded 4 goals, he faced a total of 12 shots.
