Their may be a tad fewer tough guys now than then and maybe physicality had dropped a bit but I wouldn’t say the skill level has overly changed. They same sort and same level of players are still coming now as there was then. Things may have changed a little but in my opinion not as much as you elude to and not to the extent that Gagnon won’t be able to adapt or maybe even take advantage of I'm not saying it's a bad signing or that it won't come good, just that it's not guaranteed to be an amazing signing We don't need him to be amazing just to protect his team mates and go about his job quietly

For me Gagnon is a good solid signing. He is tough and will protect his team mates if needed. He is not a loose canon and does not take stupid penalties gooning it up for no reason. He is also a good stay at home Dman who played very well against far better forwards in the CHL than he will face this year. So all in all a good addition.

We barely had 3 last year? But still managed to get bullied in a large portion of games though! Yes we got bullied on a regular basis last year and yes I'd say there was barely 3 heavyweights in the league last year, Haas, Springer and maybe Louis Not quite sure what point you’re trying to make? We were bullied on a regular basis and this should help us be less vulnerable This is only a good signing for us. He’s improved as a player since he was last here and we have a good coach who I think will get more out of the players than we have seen in a while.

Another thing is that in The Play-Off Quarter-Final 2nd Leg, Guildford had the freedom of The NIC and skated into our Zone and stayed there at will, Gagnon would have got them off that Puck one way or another.
Guildford generally don't have that Tough Guy, hopefully we should be able to bully those type of teams and get them off there game.

Glad to have Gagnon back, he was a fan favourite the last time he was here and I was sad to see him go. Wears his heart on his sleeve and is willing to do what a lot of people won’t for the team. A great enforcer in this day and age.

A player type we have desperately missed recently. Not many will bully us now.

He improved a lot under Finerty (as has Springer, just ask Jono how much Springer improved for Manchester last year) and Gagnon is definitely not a loose cannon by any stretch of the imagination.

Colours to the mast, I’m generally not a great fan of bringing back “fan favourites” from 5 seasons ago. That said, it’s mostly forwards who return and underwhelm, the more I think about it. Anyway, Gags gets a pass because he’s hard as nails.
