I mentioned a couple of weeks ago he could be going back abroad, he’s mentioned it to the golfing crew that he wasn’t coming back. Let’s say he and a couple of others have not been treated well by ‘the office’ and he’s had enough. Will have to see what happens if he can’t find a club. My question (you might not know TBF), is exactly who falls under 'the office'? I'm guessing GM the GM does, but does Gui? Just curious if it's a new problem or the old problem just happening again?

All hearsay I'm afraid no concrete evidence at all.. treated well? As in pampered . They get cars and accommodation what more do they want .
If his heart isn't in it get rid!

With Guildford announcing Griffiths' return today, I think that takes them to 5 Brits.
With his rumoured destination to be either there or Belfast does this now put this to bed? Guildford have 5 and Belfast have 6 Brits in their line up already.

I believe Belfasts 6th brit is Andrew Dickson who is their 3rd choice Netminder who is likely not to be in ther squad most game nights. Steelers also have 6 brits. However one of them is Cole Shudra who is on a two way with Leeds. If there is actially a limit of 5 btits playing in any one game, he is only likely to play if one of their others brits is injured.

To me, Griffiths resigning for Guildford is a big suggestion that Perlini is going to play outside of the league this season. I can’t see Guildford signing 6 brits and resting one every game due to their budget. I also can’t see him going to Belfast considering they would then have 7 brits, like you say, Dickson would be one that is rested with Whistle playing but they’d then be resting one of Conway, Long, Hook, Garside or Perlini every game. Obviously Belfast seem to have a bit of clout but I doubt they’d spend money on spare brits taking away money from their import budget. The only other potential team in the league I think he could go to now is Glasgow but I’d say that’s unlikely.

I wouldn't be suprised to see us sign a new top young Brit prospect though, and put them on a 2 way with somewhere like Telford.

Think his brother is too good for this league Brendan signs with Edmonton I mean, Brendan is still far too good for the EIHL, but Edmonton are making an ... 'interesting' call to sign Brendan. He's had several years and bites at the cherry, I don't think he has what it takes in the NHL.

Anyone got any more news on Brett? He will be a big loss if he goes elsewhere.

We will be the last option Jord, he tried to find a club abroad last time and couldn't hence he came back to us. He has said for a long time he wanted away its going to be if he finds someone to take him. Think he was looking at the club he played for in lockdown but if he ends up back here it will be a last resort.

But if Smith is correct (latest Star interview) and that you can only ice 14 imports and 5 Brits on game night we currently have 5 Brits, which would mean one of the Brits would not dress if Brett re-signed. It also means so full 4 line hockey unless you go with 5 in defence.
Not sure this is looking good for him re-signing.

Who wants a player when you know he’s only here as a last resort. I’d tell him to sod off !

I imagine the fact that he counts as a Brit is the only reason that the offer still remains.
