With a 5-1 first leg advantage I simply cannot see Panthers slipping up in this one. Lots of home pressure with a hint of desperation and determination to perform in front of their home fans might see the Flames record a victory on the night. The Grapes Count = Flames 2 : Panthers 1.

I went to the last Guildford match and they ran us ragged. although a 4 goal lead is not something to be sniffed at unless we score the first goal I won't hold my breath. we are at best consistently inconsistent & also missing Perlini (damaged shoulder) and Desantis

1-0 down already, this could all go horribly wrong, Flames are a good side at home .

Job done, never easy to know how to play with such a big lead. Just about getting through which we did.Only thing concerning me is how many chances they were having shorthanded though one presumes they were forechecking aggressively being so far back.

Job done.
Onto the Devils now in the semi’s, that’s going to be a real battle from tonight’s viewing. There are some positives though. With us being the higher seed we get to choose when we play at home. Also, I’d rather play them in the semis and not final. If we can get past them at least IAW will truly be a neutral venue.

Not very often a team gets a whole 2 minutes of 5 on 3, like Panthers did last night. Interestingly, as far as I can tell, Panthers have not had a single second of 5 on 3 PP in the 24 league games this season, but have had 3 opportunities in the 10 Cup games. (318 seconds, yet to score)

It'll be down to the arena because we couldn't get home ice.

I'd like to say Cardiff were spectacular last night against Belfast. But I can't cos really, The Giants were awful. No forward play, Pelech and Farnham skating round trying to hit anything that moved, a poor job on defence for the second goal. A shadow of the tram from the CHL. Cardiff played well, but Belfast never got into the game.

The only arena event I can see interfering is slipknot on the 21st (would they get everything changed over in time?). However there's also the fact we play a home game on the 14th. I assume we don't want to play a cup game the next day, especially as we'd only just be back from the Continental cup.
