We'll crush then like a bunch of grapes. Panther 3 : Flames 0. First Leg lead in the bag.

Very average night to have it, but needs to be sometime. Plenty of walkups I guess.

The CC quater final has never sold well and it's close to Christmas but it really has been quite aweful as a whole this year. Hopefully the league will reflect on what was a pretty aweful idea of a format and make some drastic changes next year.

I think this is the appalling joke of a format coming home to roost.

Hardly surprising in a competition with a ridiculous format where you play 13 or 14 games and only need to win 4 of them to win the trophy. 🙄 It’s a joke. 🤣

Irrespective of competition, that’s arguably our best period of hockey all year.
1st: Lovely quick play by Carr to spring Herr when the Flames were mid change, superb finish on the back hand.
2nd: Bulmer hangs around the net and smashes a loose puck home when it hits a Flames D man in front.
3rd: Herr again on the breakaway and lovely half deke before finishing.
Not to mention 3 very good penalty kills.

Suddenly got very tetchy. Fight and the a huge hit on Deutsch.
Flames goal was some sloppy defence as we kept giving the puck up instead of just icing or flipping it. Eventually they got it wide and then to the slot for a tap in.
No idea how our 4th went in, took a freaky bounce and Perlini jammed it in.

I'm guessing Guildford are regretting choosing us now.
Must say, I am impressed that adjustments from last Sunday were made.
Sounds like it's a performance that we should be very happy about

Very enjoyable game. We were much better at shutting them down and tons of needle too. Sam Herr is the best player we have had for Many many years and if we really are rebuilding then the team needs to be built around him.

Really glad I went tonight, enjoyable game, good goals, nice play and plenty of feisty moments to keep me interested all game.
Never seen Flames get so rattled before, the difference in entertainment levels between sunday and tonight was like night and day!
NB was in attendance this evening wonder what he made of the crowd!? 2000 ish...actually just checked 3194! Never!

Well, if he was in the building then the dodgy figures cant be about GM trying to pull the wool over his eyes. Im not sure what the benefit is but there must be some point to it somewhere.

There were probably around 500 freebies in block 9,10,11 and 12...I wonder if they counted all of the tickets they gave out even if they didn't attend?

The 4th goal... did Perlini actually touch it? Hard to tell... looked like it might just have taken a horrible bounce (well - horrible for Guildford, good for us!).

Good luck to the ticket office down in Guildford trying to shift the return leg. Simple. They’ll use the Panthers/NIC method of numeracy skills and bingo - there’ll be 7,000 in attendance! 😂

I think it just shows that lowering the price to a game this close to Christmas doesn’t make a jot of difference. I applaud the Panthers for trying something new but does anyone really think the attendance would have been much different at full price?
Anyway the game. What a great bounce back from Sunday. Adjustments made and we controlled that game. We got physical and under their skin all night. When they wanted a scrap, we gave it to them. But ultimately that performance was built around Herr’s ability to rip defences open at will.
The guy is too good for this league....so I hope to God Doucet has already started talking about next season to him. Absolute gem of a find.
And Carr is starting to remind me more and more of Kowalski. He’s not as good IMO but his puck handling ability allows us to put teams under pressure after a dump or playing it 200 feet on a power play. Especially when teams have that long change, he can keep the pressure on.
4 goals is a good lead into Guildford. I’d have snapped your hand off for that.

Well yeah ask 10 people if they would consider going if it was a £5 or £18! It's not hard to decide. On Herr. Hope you are enjoying watching him as you wont see him next year.. Black wont pay him a good rise to stay which he absolutely deserves even at this point in his contract.. hes carried them through that bad spell. Cardiff or Europe is my guess.. money talks eh! Then there's the likes of Bulmer (on current form) connelly, Talbot you would want to retain too. Let's see if Black is true to his word per the interview.. I have my doubts.. I've seen it all before
