See this as an entertaining but tight game with lots of end to end action. A close one to call but The Grapes are starting to blossom this Festive Season. The Grapes continue to how :- Panthers 3 : Flames 2.

This is a game in hand on Steelers, Giants and Clan. Win and we are 3rd place, 2 wins back, but with 3 in hand and right in the race. Didn't seem a possibility a month ago!

Really hope that this isn't 1 of those games where after a good win, we come out flat and lose.

What a frustrating game that was. As a team, Guildford had more tenacity and in the 1st period and the majority of the 2nd, they were much more lively. I don’t think we tested their goalie enough, 20 shots is poor. We held onto the puck too often at the point instead of letting it go. They outworked us down low and in the board battles, limiting our possession in their zone.
Guildford are a very boring but frustrating team, their third period consisted of them defending as a 5 and dumping the puck, but it was effective. We just couldn’t break them down. Hopefully we see Golovkovs back in the lineup some time soon, his speed wouldn’t have gone a miss tonight.
I can’t say I’m looking forward to seeing another game against Guildford on Wednesday though.

Well that was 2 hours of my life I won’t get back. What a load of tosh! We haven’t played that badly since errr, last Sunday against Sheffield!
I don’t know whether to applaud Herr or feel sorry for him. His back must ache carrying this team around on it. Connolly MOM - really, was Mum Connolly the adjudicator? I’ve never seen anyone dilly dally so much on the puck in his own zone. Kevin Carr??? he makes some good/great saves but let’s in so many innocuous goals, the second one tonight to go with 2 last Sunday, that’s 3 out of 6 he should have stopped.
It’s so frustrating watching this lot.

I wouldn’t say they tore us apart, our guys on the ice we’re poor in their defensive coverage and they took their chances. I just feel like we didn’t put the defensive work in. A matter of opinions I suppose. I’d say they are a team that works relentlessly and are effective at shutting other teams down, hence having the best defensive record in the league.Their powerplay is excellent though.

It’s so frustrating watching this lot. I wouldn’t say the 2nd goal tonight was innocuous. Flames broke in 2 on one, Carr was distracted by the shout from the advancing forward shouting for the pass and that slight movement from him gave the scorer the chance, it looked worse as it went through him as opposed to a well placed shot.

SOG - anyone understand the game sheet?
7 shots on us and we save 4? Yet Guildford players took 19 against us.
Equally, we shoot in 20. Score on 2 with 9 saved???
