Batten down the hatches, people... there's trouble a-comin'! Just found a fixture clash which - so far, it seems - appears to have been overlooked. According to the websites of the Elite League, the Nottingham Panthers and the Guildford Flames - we have a home game on Saturday 7th March against Guildford. According to the Motorpoint Arena website and the website of the band... The Stereophonics are playing the arena that night! Oops... <Stereophonics website> |

Ooops. The hockey was booked first, surely? So someone at the NIC has accepted a booking for a gig without checking the arena was free, or someone hasn’t filled in the database of bookings properly?
Not ideal, but it’s 4 months + away. It’ll just be rearranged, no harm no foul.

Panthers aren't priority at the arena so no point in voicing frustrations towards them or GM, it's out of their hands (assuming the concert was booked post-fixtures meeting).
We will always be second fiddle at the arena and we all know that.

You never know - we might be in that, so they would be glad to have a rest and not to play on the Saturday!

We've got a bit of a funny March now. Play on the 1st, then a big gap, then 8 games in 16 days (I think) to the finish.

Yeah, but it was always in that gap. The week before and most of the week after are totally blank.
Gives us no excuses, at least. If we manage to get there.

8 games in 16 days is a massive ask and could really be our downfall in the final stretch. I don't suppose that counts in the playoff qualifiers either? Will be an almighty shame after all the hard work clawing our way back up the league. Its a wait and see and fingers crossed.

All changes and alterations are on the 'changes' post (part 3) that BIGLAD follows up in the 'Fixtures' thread.
The club soon mentions the 'pencil in' alteration soon after Shaggys note here I notice.
If the truth was that it had already lost its place due to a concert coming in, was it mentioned at that time?
