[its Panthers trend atm, to not bench the full import quota. Not sure what you mean. Of the 11 competitive games so far this year, only last Sunday did Panthers not have their full allowed import quota on the gamesheet. Happy to be corrected? I was actually referring to the past few seasons and if you actually quote the full post, or the preceding sentence that point would of come across. if your happy to be corrected?

Yep, be as pedantic as you like. Whether it's Whistle starting this year or an import last year. Having an import as back up is wasting an import slot on game night and essentially playing an import short.

I was actually referring to the past few seasons and if you actually quote the full post, or the preceding sentence that point would of ('ve (if we're correcting)) come across. if your (you're) happy to be corrected? My apologies. My initial post meant to suggest that I would be happy to be corrected if I'd got the wrong end of the stick, which I apparently had. I have the stats to prove your point. Or not. 2018-19, of the 60 league games, 16 were played with 2 import netminders. Of those 16 games, 9 saw 2 imports unavailable due to injury. So 7 games Panthers played 2 import netminders and "scratched" an import outskater. The last 3 saw Kovacs healthy scratched, for what we think was an internal disciplinary issue. That only leaves 4. 23 Dec @ Dundee, 4 imports were injured. 2 import slots were left unfilled that night. 31 Dec at Coventry, only 14 imports were available, including the 2 netminders. 2 Jan @ Guildford, Billingsley was a healthy scratch (according to my records) when both import netminders played. All import slots were filled on the playing roster. Not sure why. 24 Nov @ MK, both import netminders played, but Hughes and VanKleef were both (by my records) healthy scratches. 1 import slot was left unfilled. This is the one I'm a bit puzzled about. Why scratch 2 imports and play an import short? Were those 2 actually injured? Any clues gratefully accepted. Prior year, 23 of 56 games were played with 2 import netminders, but of those 23, there is not one as far as I can tell that an import was scratched who could've played (i.e. healthy scratch) in place of a back up import netminder. Again, I'm happy to be corrected if you know better.

My apologies. My initial post meant to suggest that I would be happy to be corrected if I'd got the wrong end of the stick, which I apparently had. I also apologise. Firstly for the wrong you're. I have resigned myself that i was taught badly / didn't pay attention in english / too old to learn a new trick (I think parts of all 3 apply) I have decided to run the gambit of opting for your in most circumstances, in my head gives me a 1 in 3 chance, but i bet grammatically, its more like a 10% chance of being right. Secondly, for getting the wrong end of you getting the wrong end of the stick (does that make it the right end?) Thank you for providing the stats to backup my overall point. Panthers seem to be happy to play at a disadvantage. I am firmly in the camp of not having almost an entire squad waiting in the wings "Just in case" I don't buy into either argument of "fighting for places" or "why come here to sit in the stands" the odd extra import, kind of makes sense, injury cover, playing situational players (out and out enforcer) but the ethic in the team needs to be that all the players want to play. Not just here for the free ride and pick of the bunnies as they are first in "encore" after a game. If we had that. That winning mentality. (The thing i think all players arrive with but loose quite quickly when they see how it is) then I the extra import works, see Devils, Giants and to an extent Steelers. I did hear rumours of players "taking longer" than needed to recover from injuries over the years. There is the infamous craighead "attack" on the guilford netminder as he "didn't want to go to Bracknall the next day" as much as the above are rumours, there will be some grain of truth behind it all. Until that changes, that issue at the heart of Nottingham, we won the league inspite of it.

He was a bad signing from the start imo. Clearly on the downward trend. It had to happen but it begs the question why we got him in the first place. Bulmer should also have been told he needs to start showing something. Malquist you can add to that list. and Quist. He has been quiet lately.

That's probably just a mistake when someone typed his name. The E and the S are next to each other. As to Jakobs, you'd expect someone who was playing in the SHL 4 seasons ago, and been in the Allsvenskan since to be plenty good enough to make an impact. His latest stats weren't overwhelmingly great (and I'm a big fan of "you're only as good as your last season") but plenty of players with lesser CVs have done well in the EIHL. He was signed to do a job, and for whatever reason, it didn't work out. I'm pretty sure GD didn't sign him thinking "Well, he'll be gone by October, but I feel like signing someone today..." I get the feeling Malmquist is settling in and has been better of late, by all accounts. Bulmer needs to start showing something, I agree. It's a rare team who have all 12 forwards on form at the same time, though.

I get the feeling Malmquist is liked by Panthers. He gets interviewed a lot, got a mention for throwing a 'massive open ice hit' at the weekend which also made it to the highlights, although I know we are struggling for highlights atm, his face seems to pop up a lot.

Personally, I think he’ll prove to be a great player. There was no way he was going to get released, not that I think he should, but his connection to Wallace through the Uni of Notre Dame is important.

Yup he’ll be liked by Panthers. He’s probably the cheapest import on the roster. 🤣
