Our forwards are too shot shy at the moment and are really lacking confidence, plenty of possession but nothing coming from it

Thought we played ok, some nice passing. Two howlers from Carr, and a catalogue of missed chances in front of net hurt us. One thing they’ve got to stop is passing to the player in the slot when he’s got two opposition players in his face. We kept doing it all night and the Clan picked it off every time. We finally paid for it in the third.

Lots of possession and pretty passes but very little end product. Betteridge's goal was great but that was really the only high point...oh and Lepine finally remembering how to fight!
The arena was like a morgue tonight apart from the Clan fans. Maybe last season is still having an effect!

It Whistle had made those errors at least four people on here would have called for his head by now. And yet... nothing basically. Passing reference to the mistakes.

The game sheet says Hazledine sat out when Lepine got his 2+5 fighting with Springer is that right? And (as I wasn't there) assume Carr came off at their last penalty call (Haywood for tripping), him staying off till games end?

Correct on both counts, spik.
Between them, three defencemen (DeSantis, Matheson and Deutsch) had 10 of our 25 SOG tonight, whilst forwards Malmquist and Bulmer didn’t manage any. Lachowicz had a 90% face-off win rate (9-1).

Toothless and we need a centre badly. Our 4 main face-off guys: Betteridge = 39.0% Perlini = 42.7% Lacho = 37.7% (although he won 9 of 10 tonight apparently) Loiseau 52.0% Malmquist and Bulmer both on 53.8%, but have only taken 13 a piece. Could do with someone who can win a few face-offs, preferably they can score some goals to!

If so why didn't Glasgow have someone in the box , nothing on the GRS.

A bad game to lose as i thought we dominated them for the first two periods and we should have been out of sight. There are positives to take though. Again the work rate was there, far more effort then last years team showed. We've got good speed and some of the passing play was good. We're just not putting the puck in the back of the net. If we can sort that out then we could have a really good team as we have everything else. Disagree about Clan being the hungrier team i thought we bossed them for two periods just not as good in the third. We lost because we didn't take our chances and the goals we let in were soft.
Not sold on Kevin Carr yet. Seems very inconsistent. I thought when we signed he looked like a Guildford/Coventry/Manchester type signing going by his CV and so far nothing has changed my mind about that

We were the better team through two periods, but didn't convert a huge amount of possession into anything. Third period I thought we looked really leggy and Clan were dominant.
First look at them for me today, I was a little disappointed tbh, given the write up they've had. Not quite as neat and tidy, or as quick, as I was expecting. Probably, hopefully, just a bad day at the office.
The new scoreboard's brilliant though, wish they'd recorded more than 1 ident for Road Angel mind...

By the way, who is this John Russell (4th goalie for us) we have registered on the team roster?

Serious question why are your fans so quiet when the team need you to help them? I am proud to be a Clan fan tonight, having sang all night.

We sort our finishing out we will be a damn good team... Just watched Wallace's BBC interview... He's not happy! Excellent to see It was clear to see his displeasure but it’s refreshing to hear him comment on the finer details. Tim mentioned that he’d re-iterated to the players that the Clan were looking for the turnover, to hit us, and that’s exactly what they did for the 3rd goal with the 3 on 2. Perlini in particular, let us down there. He didn’t put the effort in on the back check and you can’t afford to have centres that don’t put the work in going backwards. I’ve always had question marks over Perlini playing centre, mainly due to his work-rate. If we lose tomorrow and we see the same level of wastefulness in front of net then I’ll be very worried. I hope they can prove they’ve got that killer touch.

Serious question why are your fans so quiet when the team need you to help them? I am proud to be a Clan fan tonight, having sang all night. From Reading opinions on here and speaking to other Panthers fans the mindset of a lot of the regular fans seems to be they only make noise when the players give them something to cheer about, which is backwards IMO. The make-up of the crowd doesn’t help either, probably 50% of the people there tonight just came for something to do, to have a beer, to see something entertaining, they probably don’t care if the team loses so they’re not going to shout and encourage them. Then when you look at the actual hockey fans in attendance, our fanbase is a lot older than yours, this could be considered a bit of a generalisation but when you look around the MAJORITY of the older fans don’t tend to shout or chant. Finally, we don’t seem to have a specific area where the noisier fan can congregate. In the past the fans have tried setting an area up in a block which doesn’t have any season ticket holders and is cheaper, but the arena decided they were going to increase the prices for that area, so that disbanded. Plus, the ‘arena’ don’t allow drums in so they can’t be brought to help liven the library up. I can shout and chant all game long at back of my block but ultimately, apart from the 3 people I go with, not many people want to get involved, and the people that do are spread so far apart that chants don’t get going. So, the club don’t want to setup a section, the majority of fan’s don’t seem as though they want to do it and the result is what you got tonight, 150 Clan fans making more noise, and arguably motivating their team more than the home crowd. Does that answer your question?

Does that answer your question? I wish I could like this more than once. I sit at the front of block 5 and it's a morgue, but I've sat all around and it's never been great. I remember a couple of efforts to get fan sections going. First in Block 18 where the club saw some ££££ and raised the prices. Secondly there was an effort in block 17 but that went out with a whimper. Literally only one bloke starting chants (I suppose I'm partly guilty as I was sat about 3 seats down from him, joined in every chant, but didn't start them) and he just gave up after 1 period of not many other people joining in and went back to the other side of the bowl (he was loud enough that you could hear him when he went back). Interestingly today Devils started their 'standing' block. Looks great, very continental. Thing is they've got the clubs backing 100%. I think there are fans here in Nottingham with that passion, but I have ZERO confidence in the club, arena, etc... offering any support or even understanding. I'm also a massive Ipswich Town fan and they've had a fan led group to improve atmosphere and bring some colour to the stands. Again it's fan led, but support by the club. (And that picture was the final game of the season having won just 2 of the previous 22 home games, already confirmed as rock bottom and relegated to the 3rd tier for the first time in 60+ years, and yet they made an atmosphere) I'd relish bring the atmosphere we saw on to the continent in the CHL to Nottingham, but to be really cynical and pessimistic, I dont think we'd get anywhere.

The fans tried setting up something which is positive, to help motivate the team, and their greed or displeasure of it puts an end to it. And yes, they were noisy, that’s the first time we’ve hosted a double header against the Clan I believe. They’re great for away fans, they can travel in numbers and get behind their team, arguably, the double header benefits the away team, especially in Nottingham.

Should our upper management/ownership ever change, we might stand half a chance of fans being able to set something up.
I don't know what the law is about standing in an arena, like they're doing at Cardiff, whether you need rail seating installed etc?

Fairly certain when they pan around arenas at the darts there's loads of drunk blokes on their feet. Same when there's concerts, I'm certain you don't quietly sit in your seat when Metallica are in town. I'm certain they'll cry Health and Safety though.

We’ve got a lot of passionate fans who go to the NIC, my only question is now would there be enough to get a group going, I know there used to be but the previous seasons seem to have pushed a lot of the passionate fans away. The lad you referred to who was in block 17, I believe he’s stopped going for example. I’d love to have something set-up like we’re seeing in Cardiff, the stand at Portman road looks brilliant as well, it’s really impressive. We’re at the point though where we need some organisation from the club, but I very much doubt they’d get involved or help.
