I feel this needs a new thread. For those who didn’t see last night, Chris Ellis did a Facebook live interview with Gui Doucet (around 30 minutes long) where some really more in depth questions were asked. He also said this would be a weekly feature on Monday nights with guests from Panthers and around the league. There will also be the return of Saturday coverage on radio Nottingham. Here is the first video www.facebook.com/BBCNottinghamSport/videos/725135187908925/Points covered -Link up with the Lions - Recruitment -his job role -culture of the club -his intro into hockey

Thought TFS was finally getting his radio commentary for a moment

I feel Doucet will be a breath of fresh air at this club.
It was so refreshing to hear someone connected with the club say that the 3rd period on Saturday wasn’t acceptable.
Also great to see the club back on board with the BBC once again.

It’s hard to not like him and TW from what we’ve seen so far

Is this a sign of the club building bridges with local media? After years of 'alienating' various outlets by club 'officials' this would be a positive step.

It would be a very positive step to build all the bridges that have previously been burnt. The interviews with Chris Ellis are like night and day compared to Panthers own in house interviews. Chris asks interesting, knowledgable and in depth questions, where as all there is in Panthers internal stuff are the same dull, uninteresting and inane questions asked to each player in turn over and over again. Best thing Panthers could do media wise is make Chris a regular feature.

That is a damned good interview... but Chris Ellis has always been quality, so we shouldn't be surprised.
If we take what is said at face value... it looks like there are a lot of positive changes happening at the Panthers.

In order to compete with this, maybe, the Panthers are releasing an hourly podcast sometime in the very near future.
So if any of you are in to your podcasts then you have that as well I guess.
Edit- Hour long sorry, not hourly...!! English is my tool.

Long overdue, I hope it's as good as the new Steelers one, frankly, not just some same-old same-old "the boys did well, we didn't get the bounces, their netminder played well" etc. Will this signal the death of Panthers wireless?

The only thing I wasn't keen on was Chris looking like he was ignoring Doucet and just playing on his phone. Maybe they can bring someone in to help him so Chris focuses on the interview and someone else sorts the camera and feeds through comments/questions that come in live. Otherwise, it was a great watch.

Someone who had just turned in may have thought it was bad manners I guess. Excellent idea to have this every Monday there needs to be more of a connection with the fans
