I hope after this season that Glasgow Clan are in it.

Has a Czech team ever beaten an EIHL team in the CHL. I’m thinking it’s now 4-0 to the EIHL.

Giants unlucky to lose in ot to Augsburger, Belfast had a late winner ruled out. Wronka looks good, Reddox just has class.

Good result for Cardiff again, 4-3 winners after a (long) shootout. 5 points and top of their group, good start for them.

Result of the night has to be unfancied Grenoble, featuring 4 ex EIHL players, including Yann Sauve and Kyle Hardy, beating Skelleftea of the SHL in Sweden. Nearly shut them out too.

I Never knew that... Kinda takes the shine off a little.. The Clan's win was a bit odd. IIRC Ingolstadt had an outside chance of qualification but needed to win in regulation so pulled their goalie with the scores tied.

Had to say I thought we’d be up against it with Martin still out injured. New guy from Finland flew in on Saturday for one skate and played Sunday so well pleased with 5pts!
Unfortunately for us last year’s champions Forlunda lost in o/t Friday and lost in regular on Sunday. So I think we’ll need to get 4 pts this week on the road in Czech Republic and Austria to have a chance of progressing 🥴

Good luck to all British sides in this competition. Good results and performances reflect well on our whole set-up and should be applauded by all fans.

Cardiff certainly have a chance with Mountfield. Belfast losing at home may have more to do

Supplementary discipline assessed for the hit on Forsberg. 1 game rest and £600 lighter for the player for charging. One remains wondering what the ref was looking at.
Also, an HPK player has been suspended for one game for throwing punches on a defenceless and unwilling opponent.

We say DOPS are bad, and they certainly are, but it's easy to think we are the only ones who suffer. People quite often even moan about the NHL equivelant. Not calling for a silly ban, but 1 game for that is far from protecting the players.

The videos themselves are much better than the EIHL ones, but there's no commentary at all...

1 game from a CHL campaign is, comparatively, a reasonable proportion?

Gnats lost 6-1.
Both teams still decently placed at the half way mark though.

Makes our progress a couple of seasons ago even more impressive considering. Do you think playing the two away games first helped us? Mountfield underestimated us in their barn and we took advantage of that, then we used home ice and the momentum to get the job done. Belfast and Cardiff haven’t had that advantage. They both desperately need to win on Saturday if they are going to progress because, as we all know, Lulea and Frolunda will be very, very tough.
