I don't think any official is 'bias' either. I just think they're inept for the majority of the time. If it isn't missing blatant calls, it's calling extremely soft or questionable calls. And if it isn't that it's a case of them feeling the noise fans make in response to their player falling over or getting hit, means they must make a call. Doucet said in his interview with Chris Ellis on BBC Nottingham Sport that officials are clamping down on stick infractions and other calls, things like slashing specifically. However, there must've been at least 10 incidents over the weekend where a call could've easily been made, yet wasn't. But they you get something happen which is barely noticeable, yet it gets called. I'm sure Golovkovs got tripped yesterday in front of a referee, and tripped as in the stick blade was well under his feet. I'm struggling to get my head around why Deutsch got 5+Game for Charging too. You can see on the highlights he cuts in relatively late, but much earlier than I originally thought. Then tries to jump around/over the goalie but there is a glancing blow. It wasn't a case of he ran him into next week and didn't attempt to stop or move out the way. His feet weren't even moving either. I see no reason why he deserved a 5+Game for Charging. I would've happily accepted a minor for goaltender interference however. I think the officials get a very hard time from the fans, sometimes it isn't justified, but sometimes it is. I do feel sorry for them and it was great to see the publicising of their training weekend at the NIC over the summer... but again, minimal training of part-time referees is useless. I wish we would just pay for full-time officials and give them the training they need. I agree, I can accept the calls they are making because as Doucet said the refs are clamping down on specific penalties but what is harder to accept is the missed calls, for example on Sunday Panthers cleared the puck out of their zone and behind the play Davies intentionally trips Tetlow from behind and it happened a couple of feet in front of Perring as he’s looking directly at it and no call.

We give Moran a lot of stick but the way he honours those past legends and keeps our history alive is fantastic. 95% of the crowd will have never seen Strongman play, maybe 80% knew him from the old days. But we’ve always kept people like Les and Chick ingrained in the club and GM is a big reason for that Would've been nice to have seen the tribute in the highlights. I didn't feel the highlights were very well put together at all, very choppy, coming in halfway through commentators sentences quite a bit. Sorry for finding something to complain about. Agreed, I think the highlights from Sunday leave a lot to be desired. We seem to be back to the "2 seconds before something and half a second after, repeat as necessary" school of video editing. And still no clock.

And still no clock. A clock is actually quite tricky to add post-match, in their defence. You can build the graphics in After Effects but it's quite time consuming and they've perhaps thought it better to keep the turnaround time quick. But the actual editing leaves a lot to be desired. I did enjoy the five goals though.

A few people said a split, and that's what we got, 9-9 on aggregate. But I'd genuinely rather be a Panther than a Steeler right now. Panthers scored 4 away (with 2 SHGs was it?) and 5 at home, and but for a scramble, nearly shut the big spenders out on Sunday. Yes, there was some luck and iron involved, but them's the breaks. All the new guys look at least decent, Herr looks a real find. Both teams have work to do, but the oranges more than the golds, I'd say.

I think the highlights could also be improved with some additional, lower camera cameras angles, maybe in each corner of the rink.

The other thing I notice is that the white of the ice flares up now and again, and washes out he detail, almost like the auto exposure of the camera isn't good enough to cope.

Always hated our highlights, 1 camera angle from the top of the rink and a rubbish view from behind the goal with a go pro.
We need better cameras, get 2 more cameras in, one as you walk in from block 6 and one from block 16 to cover both ends of the rink for different angles.
Extend the highlights to show more than just goals as well, skillful plays, good pressure in zones, hits etc. Highlights should be 10-15 mins.

Another team local to us (Steelers then) put the goals from their home games up first, usually within 12 hours, then follow up with more lengthy highlights within a day or so

It shouldn't be on auto anything inside a controlled well lit (as in stage lit) area of an arena.

Hate to join the pile on here...but I thought exactly the same after seeing the Sheffield game highlights, choppy, seem like an afterthought and the intro was worse than normal. I wonder if they've brought them 'in house' this season and left Lace Market Media to the fancier stuff like short films they've been doing (which have been great btw)?
And yes, they need to white balance the damn cameras!

And yes, they need to white balance the damn cameras! Considering the light doesn't change during play there shouldn't be any need to be white balancing cameras! If they're going to stick with just using one wide camera and the odd go-pro replay they really need to come up with some sort of wipe between passages of play. There's three weeks now until the next home match so hopefully they just got caught out with the beginning of the season rolling around so quickly.

Three weeks until the next match probably just about gives them time to give the bloody nets a wash too. They’re filthy. 🙄
