Apparently since the EIHL was formed 16 years ago this Saturdays game will be the 161st time the Panthers and Steelers have played each other. 😳😳 Jeez no wonder it’s got bloody boring !

No doubt steelers will score goals for fun this season. But after watching their first 2 games and highlights one the last on I’m not too sure about their defence. They seem to get caught out of position more than you’d expect. They love to jump into offensive plays and it has cost them a couple of times. What’s going to be interesting is we will see if speed kills. We have to speed to get past them. Hopefully we don’t let to many in and can beat their goaltenders. I hope Steelers have mobile d men and are fairly quick.. else they'll be getting carved open at will

Not sure if they’ll do one for this game, but did I see or hear somewhere correctly that Steelers are charging £15 for a webcast this year ? If they are then they know what they can do with that ! A rumour on twitter suggests it may be £15 for the £5 ticket games, £10 otherwise.

Well for me it's very simple Excessive prices for pre season and c.c. games No way am I paying a booking fee No way am I paying a facility fee No way am I paying 4.50 for a beer or 2.50 for a bottle of pop I have bought my st and that will be it....after nearly 20 years am sick of being robbed. LISTEN AND LEARN ARENA AND MANAGMENT. "Sick of being robbed"? Really? It's your choice, but that's an extreme view. You can't buy a ticket for much these days without some kind of "booking fee". It's not right, but it's the way it is. Beer and pop isn't compulsory, as you've noted. Everything is a choice, no need to bang on about "being robbed". You never go to away games or large concerts then? Or motorway services?

LISTEN AND LEARN ARENA AND MANAGMENT. For Steelers it's now £19.50 adults and £15 seniors, with lager at £5.50 plus £7 parking if not pre-booked for £5!!! A lot of posts on here reflect what is happening in Sheffield as we seem to have attracted the "casual" fan that you have. Up and down for beer while play is on etc. I posted on Steeltalk with reference to the defence, which I thought was poor, whilst the powerplay was awesome BUT, we only scored 6 evenhanded goals plus an empty netter with 10 powerplay goals. I believe we also gave away two shorthanded goals as well. Having said that, if they entertain me I'll go occasionally (particularly to the £5 games).

In the MLB, teams in the same division play each multiple times over a season. for example, The Yankees play the Red Sox at least 20 times this season, plus possible playoff games. This is continuous for many years. Do their fans think it's boring, if anything it just makes the rival even more intense. I guess that if you are going to play anybody loads of times, you might as well play your closest rivals.

In the grand scheme of things their wins over Panthers last year meant diddly.. as their league position proves this. Lol

I guess that if you are going to play anybody loads of times, you might as well play your closest rivals. 19 games out of 162 regular season games (there was one preseason friendly in Florida but hardly seems relevant to rivalry burnout). That makes 12% of games against their biggest rivals. We'll play a minimum of 10 games out if 62 against Steelers. That's 16%. For me the issue is 4 literally pointless games that serve no purpose but bringing in cash. We can lose all 8 group games in the cup and still progress to the QF. Take those out and we're at a similar ratio and it means extra games will all be knockout affairs that mean something.

Grapes Count at The House of Tin = Steelers 4 :Panthers 2. Early days for both sides but think home ice advantage will be the telling factor. Hope not as I still do hate all things Steelers. Fans are arrogant, players are arrogant and Club owner and officials are arrogant.

Usually tasty games, but looking at the crowd for Sunday against the Steelers, I reckon Storm cup gane crowds will be either very poor or they'll be a lot if freebies. I also went to the cup QF up in Chesire last year and it was a very small crowd (even though they claimed over a 1,000). Given the format I reckon it'll be poor crowds like that again for us in the cup games. They might make up for it with the Steelers games. I just can't get my head round how wrong they've got this cup format this year.

If Finnerty lets Gagnon run riot they will be chaos... which would definitely be interesting imo

Bulmer is banned for this one then, he still has one game to sit from the end of last season.
I’m not sure we’ve ever had a situation like this, where a ban is carried over from one season to the next? I’m sure Sheffield didn’t mention it to anyone though...
