Well I'm constantly told they don't... perhaps just lip service.
How much of the fan base & it's views to we actually represent.
That's an interesting point. There are what, 30 regular posters on here? A dozen "power posters"? I think we can generally say that those dozen are mostly "disaffected". The sample is self-selecting, almost, and thus biased? What's that as a percentage of 6,000 on a Saturday night? There may be some very valid points raised on here, but it's folly to think that this represents the fanbase as a whole? At the back end of last year, even at the end of the "worst season ever" (that had Panthers finish in their best league position for 6 years) weren't most games close to sold out? I suspect next Sunday's game will be very well attended. The proof will be in the attendance as you say bobness, season tickets can always be replaced by the happy clappers... Whether they return for the 'lesser' named opposition though will be the acid test to some extent.

Looking at the Arena website, ticket sales for Sunday are sluggish to say the least. There’s plenty of seats available at the moment.

Have to say also that at the Saturday game against Coventry people getting up during play to get to the bar reached epidemic levels. Is there no attempt at all now to stop this?

Some of the stewards now have large paddles they hold up basically saying "Stay in your seat while the game is in-play".
Only noticed 1 bloke move mid-action, but I was way around in 17.

Holidays will play a part but for me Price is becoming the big thing. Having an 11 month year old means my opportunities to consider getting to matches are much reduced but fast forward a few years the price will be the issue for me.
I was a late comer to Ice Hockey having been a football fan first and foremost but found Ice hockey 10/12 years ago and went as a cheaper (£14 tickets I think in Bronze) alternative to Football (Often around £25 an adult).
Now it's basically the same price. Tickets for one adult and a child for the weekend range from £30 to £35 at the City Ground compared to £27.80 to £41.80 (Having made block 8 and 12 Silver last year there are actually very few tickets in bronze once you take off season tickets). I suspect I won't be the only person that grew up watching football and eventually ended up at Ice Hockey. I think for most of them being presented with the same choice Football will win over Ice Hockey 9 times out of 10 when price is no longer a benefit.

Paddles (large) for all.

Perhaps they should supply the stewards with 'Kenny Everett's 'Brother Lee Love' style big hands, that can actually reach up and stop some-one getting out of their seat during play.

"Brothers and sisters, please do not leave your seat while the puck is in play, wait for a whistle...! No, not the goalie, an actual whistle...!" Stick it on the jumbotron, Panthers, now. Hang the copyright fees. (This will be a test of if the Panthers really do read the Cage...)

If they're big and sturdy enough to give the miscreants a good paddling, then I won't mind paying it so much. I'd imagine they'll be as much use as Ken's announcement though.

I'm interested in the size of the paddle & the font size/type if the wording on them says "Stay in your seat while the game is in-play".
I sit in row V so I need some pretty large & clear font work to understand the request here. These paddles could be huge.
I'm looking forward to seeing these on Sunday no end, almost as much as how many skittles packets were murdered for Steeler's warm up kit.

Saturday nights will always sell well no matter if ST holders contribute or not. Theres plenty of casuals who will fill those seats.. its sundays where you may see a difference this year .. I doubt you wont get as many walk ups as well Casuals = Beer swilling drunks continually getting up to go to the bar during play usually Yup and unfortunately this will never change.. the pitfalls of playing out of a city centre venue.. I've said it times .. if Panthers played on the outskirts of town with ample parking etc see how many 'saturday nighters' turn up then

Then you'ld have a half empty stadium & no off shore bank account.... That'll never do.

I can’t believe we’re 5 days away from the official season opener, against the Steelers of all teams, and there doesn’t seem to be any chatter or sign of excitement, from anyone, about the season starting. The away end has sold poorly, so far, for Saturday, which surprised me, but what’s even more surprising is the Sunday home game is nowhere near a sell-out. The Steelers have sold out blocks 1 and 2, and they look set to be taking the majority of 3, but the rest of the home blocks are far from full. So, what gives? We’ve got a new structure in place that has decided to construct a team which differs from the norm, a team that looks as though they will give their all and will deserve to be supported, yet it looks as though a lot of Panthers fans won’t be attending the opening weekend games. Have multiple season’s of disappointment finally taken their toll on a lot of fans, or are a lot of people waiting for payday?😂 I personally don’t have any appetite for Sheffield games; I’d much rather watch Cardiff or Belfast, even Coventry, as I lived in there for 13 years. Long weekend this week so I could have gone to both games...

Well for me it's very simple
Excessive prices for pre season and c.c. games
No way am I paying a booking fee No way am I paying a facility fee No way am I paying 4.50 for a beer or 2.50 for a bottle of pop
I have bought my st and that will be it....after nearly 20 years am sick of being robbed.
LISTEN AND LEARN ARENA AND MANAGMENT.

Plus I find the full house part time clientele to be most obnoxious.

Yes back on topic please. We understand people aren’t happy, we’ve read it all before but let’s get back on track. This game isn’t even in Nottingham!

Will be interesting to see if any of these precautions are longer term. DeSantis was a precaution 4 games ago.
I think we'll lose this one, I'll say a high scoring 5-3.

I think we’ve got the answer to my original question. It’s a shame if we don’t take a good following to the first official game of the season, irrelevant of who we’re playing. It would be good for the team to feel some support on the opening weekend imo. With regards to the game, I’m quite optimistic and I feel that we might be underestimated by Sheffield. I think we’ll get the win, 4-3.

Not sure if they’ll do one for this game, but did I see or hear somewhere correctly that Steelers are charging £15 for a webcast this year ? If they are then they know what they can do with that !

No doubt steelers will score goals for fun this season. But after watching their first 2 games and highlights one the last on I’m not too sure about their defence. They seem to get caught out of position more than you’d expect. They love to jump into offensive plays and it has cost them a couple of times. What’s going to be interesting is we will see if speed kills. We have to speed to get past them. Hopefully we don’t let to many in and can beat their goaltenders.
