I think they have 15 on their books, so 12? I dunno really. Correct - Mosey is spare but likely out until after Christmas. -so not much of a spare. Martin picked up an injury early in practice and is yet to play Haddad was rested on Saturday, Bentivoglio rested tonight So we had 12 imports playing

So... pretty even on that score.

You guys played very well tonight, and certainly made a game of it, your nettie was really good, and every panther played for 60 mins. This team will win many games this year, maybe not top 2, but certainly top 3/4, but who knows. Enjoyed the game tonight, thanks to two very good teams.

Got the game sheet and Murdy, Mosey, Bentivioglio and Martin were the non-playing Cardiff staff.
Panthers on ice crew as last time with Carr in goal 36 shots on him for 2 goals and Whistle as back up.
2pims each for Bulmer, Fick, Jakobs, and Tetlow.

Have to say credit to the EIHL in the games this weekend. EIHL 4 v Swedish Allsvenskan/Slovakia Elite 0
That’s pretty impressive.

It is indeed, but you can't read much into it, and all were played at home for the EIHL teams. The standard of the EIHL continues to improve, it seems, which can only be good for the league and future recruitment.

The EIHL has the quality it just needs the platform and exposure to raise its profile

I this day and age, why the EIHL doesn’t use the Internet is beyond me...imagine doing a retrospective YouTube show. On line streaming is where the future is at and it’s such an easy way to get your product out there. Get a host and then you have a plethora of players/coaches/ex players who will go on. Do live Q and A’s. Get people done at the rinks doing some pregame live bits. You can literally buy a camera set up to do that second part with a tripod for 500 or 600 quid and hook it to WiFi. People have made careers out of this yet we’re still in the stone ages.

You’ll need a decent microphone and the associated cable, a good graphics package and someone who has a decent grasp of editing. it doesn’t need TV quality equipment of course but it would require some initial investment in equipment that can produce a professional product.

To be honest, the league should be looking at the quality of the Steelers highlights for that. Best in the league and look really professional. Use their guys but yes equipment is an initial outlay but surely most teams with webcasts have this tech? I’m not so savvy with video/editing etc.

The Panthesr ones could be improved greatly with a clock on them?

That did not feel like a pre season game. We looked fast and organised to say it was our first game together it was good to watch. Impressed with Fick, thought he was solid at the back, calm and composed. Who got the assist on the Rheault game winner? What a beauty of a pass that was. And talking of beauties, that was a bullet from Deutsch....Wow. Also think the new screen was used well with the video at the beginning, it was used wrong didn’t pump up the crowd, but still a decent video. The replays were also good to see. I think it was Matheson. actually on the highlights it looks like it was Deutsch I think.

And so onto the Blaze. Their squad looks pretty ordinary and I for see their goalies facing lots of rubber this term. The Grapes Count this weekend ? Panthers to win both games. 4-1 in Nottingham and 4-2 in the Chavdome. My Grapes are blooming for a very solid campaign.

Broll and Johnston look the most interesting of the new NA players, but Laakkonen is coming off a very good year in Poland, playing with (and nearly scoring as well as) Wronka who's at Belfast. On D, Hamonic looks the goods, CV wise, but 2 of the 6 import D are straight out of college. I wouldn't predict anything just yet.

A bit worrying considering he was signed quite early on.

A bit worrying concerning he was signed quite early on. Signing announced 5 weeks ago. Hmmm... I wouldn't know for sure but potentially a hold up as its his first time applying for a working visa overseas maybe, or because it's his first professional job so everything is being tediously checked. hopefully its resolved sooner rather than later and he gets in for the weekends games.
