the fact he made the team competitive while using NIHL standard players and some not getting paid is very impressive if u ask me. Steady on, one of them is our first line center. And he was quality according to the fans who saw him week in week out. Wallace knows what he can bring so that's fine by me

I've got a sneaky feeling that Wallace will do OK and I really hope he does! He was classy at Steelers but almost ruined by Thommo, as were many others. He seems a really genuine bloke as well!

By the way, I also think, contrary to popular belief, that you will be in the mix with the other big three. For the first time in almost 5 years I'm looking forward to the season.

easy to be optimistic about other teams when you sign the teams both those teams have, feels a bit patronising to me.... oh and Pidge he was that quality that the team he was on came bottom of the league.... by a long margin....

Nobody seem to be giving Dundee any kind of chance but they look to have recruited quite well. Storm bottom for me and i don't particularly like the look of Blaze either

Tex, why oh why is it patronising? Your team on paper looks, to me, to be quite competitive but, what the hell. I try to tell it like it is and it's pointless to me to criticise your team because they are the "nasty" Panthers. Probably will in future!

Desantis for me is a good move. Think the key player with such a potentially strong D now becomes Carr. If he’s hot we could be 4th. Thing is signing 2 goals scorers really would have given us a chance. Shame we are tied in with Rheault and Lepinr as they aren’t Wallace signings .Agree that with season ticket sales down this could be a rebuilding year but it may backfire for Black and the attendances could take a hit without any ‘stars’. If we are in touch at Christmas, which is a big ask, hope we strengthen.

Why can’t that money be available in the budget to start with ?

Surely if we don’t spend as much this year we have more for next year after he hopefully have a core?

Indeed. If you add up Lee,Farmer and Clarkey’s combined wage you’re probably looking at the thick end of £3k a week saved. Spend that £3k on two imports and I reckon you could take your pick of any pair of imports currently signed in the EIHL.

I don't think fans are being pessimistic, they know we are rebuilding this year and getting our core established. We have a quick and talented squad with a sprinkling of tougher players which will help. Bit light on goals but there is a lot of unknown quality there who could rip it up. Bulmer is a great signing can score will agitate can fight and can hit. Golovkos looks a good pick up. We look quick and hard working we have our young brits who always work hard and are getting better and better. Hoping for a big years for tets

Hockey in this country hasnt been a legacy since the heineken days its so short-termism due to the nature of the better players leaving and the not so great players being shown the door producing the ever continuing roller door of import players... at least thats how it is at panthers, maybe the management dont want to give the players a payrise, maybe they dont like nottm/club or maybe they all move on to better jobs but the likes of belfast and especially cardiff recently havent had any problems holding on to their better players and dont give me no bull about better treated/jobs after hockey im not buying it. It is as plain as the nose on your head that this roster in nottm is cheap compared wth our 3 big rivals and hence the reason most are predicting at best 4th place, if you want to believe thats acceptable and it is a building year thats your prerogative but personally i believe that given the large sums of money being taken out of nottm fans we deserve a team that matches the quality of players being signed by our competitors... who knows season hasnt started yet maybe the sum of the whole is greater than the parts and that the coaching team are capable of extracting every bit of effort and skill from those signed but in my experience 9 times out of 10 the most expensive teams wins...which leads me to suspect i'll be voting with my wallet again come christmas....
