Not seen this posted elsewhere but it appears we are hosting the pre Qualification round 3 here in Nottingham.Got to say I've not really seen any publicity concerning this and only knew about this from watching the video about the scoreboard where it was casually mentioned as a forthcoming event. I know its only a pre-qualifier but unless I completely missed the announcements at the time, it appears it was announced back in May but I completely missed it. I would have hoped there was a big deal made of this but I was completely unaware until I checked the IIHF Webite

We will be playing Hungary, Estonia and a qualifier from a previous round yet to be determined. It was previously discussed in the World Championships thread:- <link>

Overall ticket prices look reasonable. Fingers crossed that all games are well attended.

Rather than the Elite site who run the domestic. www.icehockeyuk.co.uk/Maybe where you'd have not read the initial details.

To be honest I was just surprised that here in Nottingham, where the event is to be hosted, there has been no real publicity letting anyone know this event is happening. So even if you you are already someone very much into ice hockey, it is unlikely you know this tournament is happening in our city. If you are not a keen ice hockey fan the chances are that you will be completely and utterly unaware that this event will happen here in February. It does not matter how many obscure (to the average person in the street) website sites this information is actually on, there has been no publicity about this event even in Nottingham, let alone in the rest of the country. So if they are wanting anybody other than die hard GB fans turning up they had better start letting people know about this. I am a very keen hockey fan and enjoy watching the sport and as a result I watch out for any news concerning GB, Elite League and NHL news on a regular basis so when I found out about this I asked all my friend who go to watch the Panthers with me if they knew this tournament was happening they were all in complete surprise about it. To be honest by having my little rant on here about the lack of publicity for this event I have likely made more people aware that this event is proceeding than anything UKicehockey ha done this needs to be published more. End of. Cheers Tom

Perhaps you could then report back and let us all know what he says.

As Pies correctly points out, the organisation and promotion of this event is nothing to do with Gary Moran whatsoever. It's nothing to do with the Panthers either. In fact, I would imagine that it's little or nothing to do with the EIHL as a whole.
It's the province of IHUK as the direct affiliate of, and representative for, the IIHF in the UK. How much involvement anyone but them & the NIC will have is anybody's guess... but this is nothing to do with club or even league level.
I have to say that I was distinctly unimpressed by the apparent lack of publicity in Belfast when that city hosted our Div 1A of the Worlds a couple of years ago... although obviously I didn't see any of the build-up to it over the preceding months. Hardly any posters or publicity that I could see at all (and the local turnout was distinctly disappointing). Hopefully IHUK can do better this time... having the magic word (to the general public) "Olympics" to play with might help.

Let’s be honest, GM is a good spin doctor and would have done a much better job than any IHUK/IIHF to the point that we were sick of it
