Basically it seems that the Steelers have to cut admission prices in order to get people through the door. The Panthers do not have that problem. As an owner would you charge punters one third of the price of a ticket when said punter is happy to pay the full price? That’s true of a Saturday night to a point but even then loads of free tickets are given away. Midweek and CC games are either half empty or free giveaways. I sat next to free giveaway seats pretty much every game all season. The fallacy that the Panthers sell out many games is pure fantasy. Correct. You’d be surprised how many free tickets are given out at the NIC,certainly 200 to 300 every game and on nights when the GMB people or several schools are there it can run into 600 to 800 easily.

I bought 4 “freebie” tickets at I think £3 each. Also had the option to go to around another 5ish more. So glad I didn’t buy a ST and haven’t this year either.

I got given two free tickets an hour or so before a game on Bolero Square by a scruffy looking couple who walked past and asked if i could use these. Didn’t need them myself as i had my season ticket so I gave them away myself too.

The wife’s school had heavily discounted tickets/free tickets on three occasions last season & on one occasion, this occurred only after the school had been involved in a “skate with the Panthers” night. Personally, I don’t have any issue with schools getting either free or reduced price tickets.

As an owner would you charge punters one third of the price of a ticket when said punter is happy to pay the full price? You couldn't be more wrong. These prices are for "special" games and in number very few. At these games everyone pays the same and it entices people who wouldn't turn up for these (mainly) midweek games to attend. My wife and I included! The crowds for the normal weekend games have increased significantly, which is quite astonishing given the quality of Thompson's hockey!!!! Your club gives out no fewer freebies than all the others, Steelers included.

I may also add that the deal with UNITE whereby members get a £10 ticket has reaped great rewards too.
