Just been looking at the fixture list. So it looks like, anyone who has a ST, BUT is not paying extra for CC, AC or PS games, the first home game will be on 28th September!! I know the ST debate has been discussed ad nauseam, but this seems strange to me. Also, having looked back at the ST form, it clearly states it covers 28 LEAGUE games, yet there are only 27. Where is the additional one to come from?

From the interview with Moran it sounds like the Arena is booked up with loads of events which has limited the availability of Sat nights to play games. It didnāt sound like it was strategic to move games away from Saturday, fixing them on Sundays and Mid week.
Iām guessing as the arena is used more and more that Saturday night fixture will dwindle further year on year.

Instead there's garbage which sees the arena spend more than they make like Harlem Globe Trotters.

Unfortunately that's the price that venues have to pay if they want to get more lucrative gigs... turn down a promoter on one of the less lucrative events, and they are less likely to offer you the good stuff.

ST 28th game will be allocated to the first added game to the fixtures. Therefore (as the club mentioned) the first CUP game (when/if qualified) and as it is also mentioned, thereafter the first PO game. Tongue in cheek - what if Panthers don't qualify for either? opps. Just saying.

A little off the topic but about fixtures. Am going to put up (under construction only - not readable material yet) the usual fixtures/statistics thread but this time would like to hear of anyone wanting to contribute in any way. be it stats versions of your own or comments as a regular issue. Please get in touch if need be.
Also a final call upon people interested in the 'guess the score' type competition for fun to be included in the thread if enough interest. PM me - ta Mick

Jeez is it really six weeks into the season before Panthers play a home league game ? No, it's 4 weeks... the season itself doesn't start until the beginning of September. Allegedly this is due to the arena being booked out for most of September by the Marvel Universe Live bunch... including a couple of weeks for tour rehearsals.

Depends on your definition of āthe seasonā if youāre so pedantic you want to split hairs. I think most people would think the hockey season started last weekend.

Depends on your definition of āthe seasonā if youāre so pedantic you want to split hairs. I think most people would think the hockey season started last weekend. Seeing as just about everyone - including the EIHL itself - describe these games as "pre-season", then logically they are not part of the hockey season. What most people call "competitive" games start at the beginning of September with the Challenge Cup games... hence the 4 weeks. Now if you actually wanted to be pedantic, you could argue that "season" only counts as what is generally called 'the regular season' which are the games that count towards the league title... and they don't start until the 2nd week of September... meaning that it would be 3 weeks into 'the season' that the Panthers have their first home game... not 4 or 6!

I guess a Season ticket may also state a time period?
