The current plan is for Matheson to be RHS. Tetlow will be part of the top 6 D. Awesome Pretty sure Doucet said Connelly is comfortable playing RD too - so good to see we have options Connelly - ? Lepine - Matheson Tetlow - Fick Hazeldine

Lepine - Matheson Tetlow - Fick Hazeldine I'll reserve judgement until we at least know the full Brit pack. That will be the big difference maker. At this point I don't see why we wouldn't go 6 import D, but of course if we were to lose Farmer and not get Davies(we'd be in a bit of a pickle unless some other decent Brits appeared) we'd need the extra import Forward. Im also not convinced by signing Dmen from the outset to play on the opposite side. Surely you'd look for an even split of Left & Right. To be honest 24 hours ago I was confident our D was likely to shape up nicely. Now Im a bit worried. Best case scinario Carr Brit under 23 back up Import-Connolly Import-Matherson Fick-Lepine Tetlow Import Import Import Import Loiseau Import Brit Davies Rheault Farmer Perlini Ollie Lacho Davies and Farmer could be any over 23 Brit. And im not suggesting Perlini and Farmer are 4th liners. So much depends on how we put together our 5 over 23 Brits. An over 23 back up? 5 forwards? Find another decent Brit Dman? Will the new Brit rule come into place for this season in EIHL? So many questions to answer first, however we all know defences win championships so we really should look to go with the strongest option possible. I like Tetlow but I wouldn't put him top 6 in a championship winning defence.

If the changes to the classification of British players come in this season billingsley will be classed as a Brit. If we did sign him and Farmer then the brit pack would look a little stronger.

If Tetlow is top 6D then we just need one RHS dman. Hughes would be my choice.

Billingsley is definitely not being signed by Panthers. Hallelujah. Can't see them changing the Brit rule at this stage in proceedings, would surely have a big potential effect on recruitment/how little we have to pay Lachowicz?

I’d say from his form last year, Hughes would be 2nd line and it looks like we need a 1st liner

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Billingsley being classified as a Brit would be far from the interesting prospect if the EIHL adopts IIHF standards. Surely the the likes of Gleason Fournier, Joey Haddad and Joey Martin would all become elligible British players under the 4-Year rule?
Maybe changing the rules is whats needed to end Cardiff's reign...

Looks an interesting signing, but how difficult is it to spell Manglerud?

Lepine - Matheson Tetlow - Fick Hazeldine Two options for the RHS then I guess potentially. Tetlow would need a transition/offensive dman next to him perferably with experience. Matheson makes some sense for that pair.

So certain in your responce, is the ink already dry in Manchester? Also I agree Hughes would be a fairly sensible pick to finish the D. Connelly - Hughes Lepine - Fick
Tetlow - Matheson Hazeldine
It doesn't look terrible...
On paper Hughes and Connelly could make a great pairing and Tetlow playing alongside Matheson on the right would probably do a lot for his development. Lepine and Fick is perhaps not quite the standard I would have hoped for, but it could work. Lepine playing the stay-at-home role he's known for allowing Fick to push more offensively, which appears to be where his career is hopefully heading.
Works in my head atleast...

Very sure on Billingsley, yes. I'd be absolutely amazed if Panthers re-signed him, my flabber would be firmly gasted.

i'm just not sure Tetlow is ready to play a full time D role just yet. He came on leaps and bounds last year and rightly got increased ice time, but there's something i'm not too sure about with him getting full time minutes just yet - give it another year and i think he could be ready if he continues to improve. My ideal solution as was mentioned above is that we get either Davies/Farmer to fill an import slot on the 3rd and use that import slot as the 6th D man. But only time will tell i guess
