Surely the team has to be pretty much signed by now or we are going to be going into training camp short on bodies and potentially start the season short again.
It would not surprise me to see Wallace and Doucet lace them up to at least start the season.

Well one signing in an hours time. Is it 3 more to go after this one?

If rumours are correct then the team is already signed and has been for a couple of weeks, just being drip fed them now.

I actually don’t mind the drop feeding. There’s been no leaks on this team which genuinely means no one has any idea who we’ve signed.
This leads to others guessing but also a lot of underestimation of the team so far. I suppose this signing indicates what our ambition is

Updated original post to include Malmquist.
God knows how it’s going to pan out now.

This season is a huge gamble.
It’s been a gamble on the Brits we’ve let go and the lack of senior Brits bought back. It’s a gamble on the type of imports we’ve signed. It’s a gamble letting a first year DOH and second year coach handle this.
But ultimately, we’ve never done this before. The players we’ve signed are going pros, who hopefully with the likes of Wallace, Doucet and Matheson around them, will take this chance to show the league and Europe what they are all about.
On paper, it isn’t what we expected but we’ve been the best team on paper far too many times to keep trying that approach.
Intrigued to see how this pans out

Personally this is what I think is most likely, I obviously don’t know who our spare dman is so they could replace another import dman I’ve already put in the starting lineup Import-Import-Import Herr-Loiseau-Import Golovkovs-Perlini-Rheault Kelsall - Lacho - Betteridge Hazeldine Deutsch - Connelly Lepine - Fick Tetlow - Matheson Import Carr Import Brit backup Perhaps Bobness needs to check out this thread as it may shock him how many coaches have Lacho and Ollie on LINE 4 🙄🙈

And it certainly ain't anybody posting on here. I'd be surprised if Lacho isn't on the 4th, and if Ollie is. My opinion, end of. What will be will be.

Ok so why do you think coach will put Lachowicz over Ollie? He doesn't mean that. As I read it he is saying he sees Lacho as a 4th liner(he would be suprised if Lacho was anywhere other than the 4th line) but would be dissapointed if Ollie were to be on the 4th line.

You are correct. "I'd be surprised if Lacho isn't on the 4th" meaning I'd be surprised if Lacho plays anything other than 4th line this coming season. This is based on the last couple of seasons' output, last especially. He may have a rebirth, it's to be hoped, which means he can contribute more than he did last year (1 goal past a goalie in 60 league games, for example). If so, he may move up, but based on 2018-19, I don't see Lacho anywhere but 4th line and occasional PKing. "...and if Ollie is." Meaning I'd be similarly surprised if Ollie is on the 4th line. His play was one of the very few good things to come out of last season, and he played throughout the line up. IMHO, he's earned a slot on at least the 3rd line. He could be the Benedict role on a scoring line too, which would give greater depth to the lines if successful. Time will tell, of course.

Intrigued to see how this pans out I don’t really think it is a gamble - how many ‘names’ have let us down wearing the Panthers jersey- lets get away from these signings. This is the first time Ive actually been excited by a roster for a long time.

Butnits a gamble to do something we’ve never done before. Sheffield took a gamble in a Brit goalie last season and dropped the ball.

Has Boxill signed for anyone? Would not be surprised to see him back in Nottingham due to Brit shortage.

I certainly dont think theres any pressure on Panthers like usual. There should always be pressure on the Panthers based on the size of our club alone. I'm certainly fine with giving GD & TW time (unless we're scrapping it out in 8th!!) but to say they're not under any pressure?

Rather give Kelsall more minutes than sign Boxill.
