Wouldn’t surprise me if the team is already signed up and we’ll be drip fed the remainder over the next couple of weeks, & if Farmer doesn’t find a club does he end up back here where he doesn’t really want to be. Thing is... how much does Robert Farmer 'not want' to be here in Nottingham? Is it:- - he wants out, completely and definitively, and will only stay if he really can't get any half-decent berth in Europe (or elsewhere)? or - he'd like to try his hand overseas if he can find a good slot in one of the better leagues, but will (mostly) happily return if there is nothing that's a good fit? Or somewhere along a sliding scale between the two?

Am I the only one mildly alarmed that all the roster predictions here so far have the 'top' fwd line empty....?! How often are supposed entire top lines the final signings? Can't help feel there's going to be some serious disappointment at what we end up with fwds wise. Pessimism Sunday maybe I know. Doucet said in an interview that they are waiting to get the top end players and that was a week or two ago Which one was this in? I try and limit my exposure to Gary shouting so I don't want to do the investigating

I'd go for the first one... He's tied to Panthers EIHL wise for 2019/20... Unless someone with silly money to the West of us buys him out...
If I was a betting man I'd expect that same silly money club to have him on their roster next season.

This is just my opinion on this occasion. No actual official/made up official fluff to it at all.

Understood ✔️ I’m confirming I would be very happy to take him - if we have any spare cash left from the Economy flights, accommodations and Rodeo tickets for the few players and families that met up for the Calgary Summit last week 😁 Unfortunately due to his contract we’d have to wait until next season 😢 Wish Giants would get on with signing players ..............

Thing is Jord going back in history when panthers got the arena and allegedly became a "bigger" club we had the likes of Cardiff etc fans telling us that panthers as a club couldn't and shouldn't spend what they could as they would "buy" the league and send it into a spiral that would result in the league going bust.... little did they know at the time that the priority is about making money (imho)...
Move forward to the last 5 years or so we have relatively newer clubs like giants who have extra spending power with the tax advantages in NI and now the millionaire owners in Cardiff etc and our own fans are saying they wouldn't be surprised if assets of the club like farmer can be bought out, it comes as no surprise the likes of hull Edinburgh and MK went the way of the dodo in our league. Imho this is the tip of the iceburg because for example Sheffield look like they are trying to compete by having a more expensive roster this season and the way things are going if panthers want to compete then they too will need to dip into some of those what I believe are ample profits to even keep up let alone overtake and over the past decade the management have shown very little in way of having a desire to spend what would be enough to ensure a sustained challenge year on year...
Looking at the roster at this time compared to the likes of Cardiff and to a lesser extent Sheffield we are in for another long season...

For me Tex it's not about Panthers's wanting to compete, it's do they need to compete?
While the seemingly never ending supply of fans turn up & pay their money then there is no real incentive to spend what we all believe should be spent. If our budget is on a par with Belfast I'd be surprised. Obviously Cardiff & seemingly Sheffield are now comfortably outspending us.
Our D looks good, real good actually. Problem is these last few forwards have to be stellar now to hope to make a difference. I can't see it personally.

And there you have it,the biggest problem with Panthers not spending what they could is their own fans. If everybody just sits back and accepts what’s been seen over the last five or six years then there ain’t no point complaining at yet another distant 3rd or 4th place finish.

You may think that about Black, but my view is that if crowds dropped significantly the wallet would get opened a little more.

Or maybe we wait till the whole team has been announced and we're 10/15 games into the season? Then we can start pulling them apart?

You mention those that love and support the club, and I guess a lot of them would be season ticket holders. How many of the crowd at a game fall into that category, how many fans go to 20+ games a season? 75%? 50%? 40%? Anything less than half means that the weekly night out casuals make up the majority, those that are paying top whack for a ticket, and if they don't come one week there will be others instead. It's part of their routine, beer, game, beer, pub / club, beer, kebab, home; great night out with mates. Who cares, they cheer the team when it goes well, why not they're local a win adds to the pleasure of the night out. Lose oh well, next time maybe. Follow the team, fansites, forums on social media, nope; it's a night out.
Whilst the team, play ok, and win a few people will come. It comes up that will the players want to give their all when you are playing Edinburgh (I know they are in the leagues now)on a Tuesday night, or will the fans turn out as well. How often do we get games like that, or is it more likely to be Coventry or Manchester, games with a little spice. Games against a 'minnow' team put one of those on a weekend when a win keeps the punters happy. Cynical? moi? probably.
