Hughes was a big miss for us at the weekend and, interestingly, Hurtubise was not on the ice for any of the nine goals conceded. (According the EIHL game centre) I think there could be some truth to your stats. Hughes is terrific defenceman, who I hope we resign, and Hurtubise is a brilliant two-way centre, works his backside off and I would be happy if we resigned him as 3rd line centre. My stats are all truth... My sentiments exactly. Hughes was head and shoulders Panthers best actual defensemen last year, IMHO, even after being -8 in the last 11 games (worst on the team by a mile, whilst at the same time Lee and Rissling were both +8). Hurtubise could easily be the best 3rd line centre in the league, and he'd be used on the PP.

Not many if last season is much to go buy. I'd expect Hughes to be attracting a fair bit of interest from here and possibly elsewhere. if reports are correct only 3 players have been asked to come back. 1 forward & 2 dmen all the rest are free agents. if strachen isn't the coach who's making the decision to offer contacts & releasing the others.

Is that alongside the ones we're stuck with because some divvy gave them 2 year deals?

So that's 1 forward and 2 D as well as Lepine, Rheault and whoever else is in the middle of a 2 year?

Suddenly Henderson appears to have gone from 'Head Coach Elect' to 'Being Released' ? If it is the latter how will that affect the situation regards 'Potential Franchise Signing' Chris Stewart ?

I really like Stewart and think we should build a team round him but he ain’t bigger than the club so if his decision on whether he returns or not is reliant on Henderson returning then as far as I am concerned he can leave with him

We'll certainly struggle to replace that half a point per game if Stewart leaves.
Still at least we'll get the second hand truck back.

Obviously difficult to say as due to the cloak and dagger nature of the club, we don’t know who is on these multi year deals, or how long for? If it’s true that Rheault is on a uni deal and Henderson & Stewart are included in the coaching set up, I’d go for Guptill or Hurtubise as the F. On D, if Lépine is on a Uni deal, I’d go for Olsen and Hughes. The club seem to think a lot of Hughes (MVP last season) and I’d imagine Rissling would be gassed due to his on ice ‘discipline’ issues.

Funny how they all had exit interviews in the week and they have not mentioned who, if any are coming back! Giving some bull about letting them tell their family!
Unless guys on a two year deal have been given the chop (we can only hope!) and those on a one year deal wont be offered a new deal, why can't they just come out and thank them, wishing them well! The secrecy and lack of communication is shocking!
Considering how many of the fans feel you'd think they would be quick to say who we are waving goodbye to allowing us to say good riddance!
It is also a concern that there appears to have been little movement on the coach! Does that mean that Moran and Rick will be signing players for the new coach when he is finally appointed!
What a mess!
