He's caused masses of problems behind the scenes in Belfast Baggy, I wouldn't touch him. Hasn't it been all over Twitter at the weekend that Keefe sacked him on the spot because he was slagging him off behind his back? There are quite a few Giants fans glad he's gone aswell. Was recently given a public dressing down by the Belfast bench coach for dissing Edinburgh Capitals. Not too sure about any of that stuff. If he is really that bad then as I said absoloutly no way we should sign him. However Yotes makes a very good point. It's not as if he was gassed half way through his first season. Not even at the end of the first. He managed 3 seasons in Belfast so surely he cant have been that bad. PPG player and agitator(A role we continue to miss hugely). Also, IIRC Ling was suposed to be very much a problem in the locker room according to reports during the first half of the season in Nottingham. That didn't turn out too badly. We don't really know what happens behind the scences but if it's true then maybe he wouldn't be so good. Going off what we do know, the on ice sruff we can see, Id love to see him here.

Aaron Fix announced as the new Steelers coach on a 3yr deal. Vallerand also confirmed also De Luca It’s all going off in Sheffield, their Brit pack has also been confirmed: J. Phillips D. Phillips J. Whistle B. Whistle Dowd O'Connor Brown Griffin Alex Graham Shudra Do teams re-sign mostly all their Brits due to the fact that they are scared that they can't get Brits from other clubs.
The Only Brit that seems to move is Swindlehurst

It could be, but Sheffield shouldn’t want to break there’s up, they’ve got the best offensive Brit dman in O’connor, the best Brit forward in Dowd and an absolute leader in Jono Phillips. In other cases it could be that British players don’t want to move as they will be living in that area permanently, which means if you release a Brit it could be difficult to sign another as they may not want to uproot their family. Swindlehurst is a good example as he’s relatively young and may not have a family yet, it could be easier for him I suppose.

I see Sheffield’s new coach has recent experience of representing a club with financial problems that struggles to play its players....
...in recruitment terminology that’s a “fit.”

Having him in their locker room helped them this year to 3 titles and a runners up spot (when he wasn't in the locker room). Terrible. They persuaded him to come out of retirement for one more year too

Clan just signed Killeen. Massive upgrade on Rumpel. Pretty disappointed as I'd have made him a priority signing for Panthers. I'd take Shane Owen as a very good consolation.

Any player we've had off you has done well for us, most of the time.
Jade Galbraith was class for us in 2011/12

Killeen looks a really good signing by the Clan. Pity he did not stop off in Nottingham on his way up North from Milton Keynes.

Guildford do keep hold of their better players well, Watters on a 2 year deal is good work.

I expect Belfast’s new signing to make quite an impact this coming season. From the footage I’ve seen on YouTube he looks like a really exciting player, very quick and skilful, and he’s only 23. That’s a decent first signing from the champions.
Let’s hope Doucet can get us our own exciting players!

Good signing to replace Shields. Goal scoring Brits are a rare breed.

Agreed, laughable statement for the club to make. How many players have we binned off when they either weren't up to it or a better one became available? Hell, we binned off John Tripp just 1 year into a 2 year contract to get Russell. Can't demand loyalty from others when you don't give it to others yourself.

Good move for Russell. Wouldn't personally put him at that level from what we've seen domestically, but I guess his GB stint is pretty impressive. Good luck to him anyway.

I'd wager he ll be taking Bowns with him. Not when they find out what he probably earns in Cardiff mate. DEL 2 salaries are even lower than EIHL. Bowns would be very dumb if he went there.

It's not just the salary... People are understandably saying that Bowns should go to Europe to 'improve' his career. How much if an improvement would DEL2 be? Yes, it could be a stepping-stone to a higher league, which may well be worth it... but how many years would he have to spend in DEL2 before that happened - how many years would he gave left in his career? Would the return (money, prestige, etc) be worth it? The EIHL is hardly a major league in Europe, let's not fool ourselves, but Bowns has more here than you might think. He's a top dog here, no doubt earning a decent wedge, and has the 'home comforts' benefits as well. He's getting some serious international showcasing as it is, both with Cardiff in the CHL and with GB... there is the possibility that a higher league than DEL2 could come a-calling anyway. DEL2 shouldn't be ruled out, of course... but neither should it be automatically assumed to be the best move for him either. It's entirely possible that the best move for him - for now, anyway - is no move at all.

not surprised in the slightest with this one, apparently paid his own way to Belfast from his previous team when they failed the playoffs. Told my Belfast friends he wanted to stay at the cup final in Cardiff. A great signing for the Giants.
