Certainly can't disagree with the point made as I have bitten the bullet and decided I'd have to call it a day. This is the first season I've (as yet) not been to a game in the NIC.
Things have to change before I change my mind and start going again. But I can't see any changes coming at all in order for that to happen. Shame.

I'm certainly less bothered about attending at this point this season than I ever have been before. Tomorrow will be my third home game on the trot missed, that's never happened unless holidays have been involved. Too many poor games this year. Panthers look a team utterly devoid of ideas and confidence. The quality is there, but something is stopping it.
A propos of very little, it would be interesting to see what other EIHL clubs' players actually do in their down time that is "club duties". It's often said that there are too many quiz nights etc here, but what do other teams do in comparison? There's an argument that says that anyone can go out and have a few jars any night anyway, no matter where they are, are they not better being "supervised"? I struggle to put this season down to two too many quiz nights...

The non will to win and lethargy starts in the Panthers office, continues with the furniture Brits and the returning cosy imports, filters into the new imports and by the time we get to November hardly any of them give a toss.
That’s about the top and bottom of it in Pantherland !

Successful sportspeople are the ones who do the hard work outside of formal training sessions, etc - they continue to strive to make themselves better even if it’s just by small margins - watching this team on the ice I’m struggling to see who does that in light of their performances. Perhaps life is just too comfortable being a Panthers player and the club doesn’t foster a work ethic?

Perhaps life is just too comfortable being a Panthers player and the club doesn’t foster a work ethic? Absolutely agree, but is it down to the prevalence of quiz nights or something else? If the club is a holiday camp, then it gets the performances it deserves on ice, and you'd hope someone might notice and try to change it. Most new players won't be used to a lackadaisical club to play for. Strangely, punters are turning up in their thousands, though.

Spot on from Paul. Those ties he is talking about have just about all snapped for me and Kerry. We couldn't be bothered to go to the cup semi last week, when years ago we wouldn't of dreamed of missing a semi final and would have been excited about the prospect. Saturday only added to the general feeling of it's time to wave goodbye to our season tickets and stop subjecting our daughters to the boredom of Ice Hockey. Where they sit with their heads in their phones as the hockey is boring. Following the Panthers used to be fun (win or lose) and the sport of Ice Hockey was exciting. Now it's just boring. The Panthers are happy with mediocrity and the sport has lost it's physical side with no real agitators or characters and true rivalry between teams adding to the entertainment. For those who say it's got more skillful I can't see any more skill on show, there is less. It's all just very beige.
So that's four season tickets that are not being renewed next year. With myself having barely missed a home game for 30 odd seasons and Kerry for about 40 seasons.

I've said times a league like this won't work just on trying to be a skill league. It's not fast enough officiatingis getting worse year on year Dops are incompetent and so on. I remember Panthers pretty much were just making up the numbers we weren't expected to win much but my god the hockey was still box office and you just couldn't wait for the next game win or lose. Fans who start going now will never know what it used to be like and presume this is the norm

Tell you what people who have been watching this team for decades don’t need... A lazy NHL has-been we couldn’t believe we had signed a few weeks ago, being on Twitter the morning after another pathetic loss and days after loosing again to a poor Steelers team getting a free car! I’d rather we sacked the lot of them and played a league below with players that care. And without the hangers on!

Got to keep the sponsors happy and the money rolling in mate, after all it is the Panthers number one priority. I’m just amazed anybody is still stupid enough to sponsor such a bunch of losers ! 🙄

When I saw that today I just thought that was the most Nottingham Panthers thing we could have tweeted today. For all the improvements the media team have made over the last couple of seasons they still just don't look at things from a fans perspective. I get that the on ice activity isn't giving them a lot to work with which isn't their fault but we've scored a fair few social media own goals this season too. It just adds insult to injury.

Mmmm bet that big fancy new car really improved team morale.....whilst the others all drive around in Dinky cars. Another own goal by the Panthers. 🙄

That the club have given him a truck, but stuffed him by making it a dreadful, ugly advertmobile, has made me feel a bit better tbh. Good tweet.

Should be able to go downhill really quickly 🤔 Hope he doesn’t do what one player did a few years ago and leave his handbrake off in the arena car park and walk away. That went downhill fast.....and that nice chap Moran charged him for the damage !

This season we only have one gear. Reverse. But, not to worry. We still have bunches of weeds from Flowervision, ice cream vouchers from Creams and kids trampoline vouchers from Planet Bounce. Everything is just fine on Planet Panthers. Oh, and by the way, we have the worst match programme in the entire Elite League. Soon be a bucket collection so that we can get a new leg for Paws' drum.

And he has every reason to. Hockey in this country is on its knees due to poor standard and the idiots running it.

I do go to hockey every week and the negativity is brought on by watching a game that is going backwards. Gone is the entertainment that made me relish each match-night. Gone are the characters that lit up the game. Gone are the players who would have me out of my seat. Gone are those special nights when the rink/arena was buzzing with an electric atmosphere. But, I still love the sport that belongs to the fans and that remains so important to millions of hockey lovers across the globe.
