Has he been as good as we all thought he was going to be, or is it too early to tell?

So far he's been about as much use as his brother was.
Maybe he'll up his game for the playoffs, if he's still here?

I said when he came IF he came to play he d be the leagues best by some distance.. unfortunately he doesn't look interested.. he doesn't need the money as he's made over $4m the last few years so I'm not sure of motive of actually being here if he isn't prepared to put in a shift

Put in a nice hit on his first shift.... & that's about it.
This was the only game I've seen though, others are far more educated.

About as much use as Chernoclue was. If he has earned $4 million and he’s here for the “birds” he needs physiological help too.

I wouldn't say he wasn't interested, I watched him in Scotland all weekend and I do admit Fri & Sat he didn't have the best games but Sunday he played better, cant put my finger on what it is with him but he doesn't look comfortable. But his reaction to the win on Sunday tells me he is bothered he was fist pumping the Panthers fans and jumping about, to be fair they were all jumping about. A couple of the Brits have said he's come in with no airs and graces and really gets stuck in at training but hey ho we all see things differently.

Since 2010-11, his total NHL earnings are, give or take, $21m. Crikey.

First win since he's been here, I'd be jumping about too! 0 for 6 before that. 1+1 from 7 games, from a guy who should be our best forward by some distance. He's directly cost us at least as many goals. It's all very Panthers, fanfare grossly disproportionate to actual effect. Only pleasing thing is the thought of the wages Blacky and The Bermuda Boys will be having to pay him.

At the moment it seems he was correct. 😫

His skills and abilities are plain to see, however they don't translate to an EIHL level. if there was another of him on the opposite wing I'm sure he'd be causing havoc, but we don't really get the best out of him. and I can't see us having to pay that much for him, he's probably using us as a springboard to get fit enough for an NHL tryout before next season.

To be fair the entire team is in turmoil and the Panthers have managed to dredge yet another low point from the barrel so I doubt we have seen the best from a lot of them.

To me, he doesn’t look fit enough, it’s as though he’s come here out of shape and he thought he could get away with it.
I don’t think it’s a case of him not being bothered, as EMB has said his reaction after the win on Sunday said a lot, he was overjoyed so to me that is a good sign. Now he’s got to put in the work, get fitter and his ability will turn him into a force.
I hope we see more from him this Saturday, it’s a big game, against a great side, the fans will be up for it and that should rub off on the players.

When he signed I did hear that he had come here to get fit as he hadn't played since last season, and therefore try to get another contract in the NHL for next season.

he's probably using us as a springboard to get fit enough for an NHL tryout before next season. No chance. He wasn't good enough when Calgary picked him up on waivers from Minnesota, which is why he spent the tail end of that season scratched. His days in the NHL are over and I don't see him playing in another professional league before retiring for good.

If he hasn’t played since last season, I’m not surprised he’s finding it tough; Nylander is equally struggling with Toronto at the moment, despite training in Sweden prior to his contract being resolved.

In my opinion he has been a HUGE disappointment so far. Whilst accepting all the usual about a new team, new surroundings, new country even, the fact remains that he does not look match fit or interested. Simply has to do much better to justify the hype ( and expense ? ). The Challenge Cup semifinal second leg would be a good game to really confirm his quality.
