I wish they'd explain how guys like Billingsley and Lake have become eligible. I had no clue Billingsley had any British links. I hope to see Billingsley back in the lineup for Panthers soon. Me neither, but he has a Union flag in his EP page now. Slightly ironic that he and Lacho appear good enough for GB but currently barely seeing any ice at club level. He has British family in the Uk... Liverpool I think he was telling us before Christmas, I know they've been to watch him just not sure what the parentage is. Feel sorry for Tim as he's apparently gutted he keeps getting dropped.

I guess no player likes to be a healthy scratch. He's unlucky for me, seems to be always having a seat when it would be better spread around for me. I don't think he's done much, if anything, wrong.

The younger Perlini was born in the U.K. but trained in North America, for him to be eligible for GB he would need to complete two years in the U.K. domestic league and apply for a change of nationality from the IIHF as he has iced for Canada already.
The older Perlini holds a British passport and was trained in juniors in the U.K., which is why he is not classed as an import and is eligible for GB
Billingsley qualifies for a British passport through his family and as he has now completed two years in the U.K. he is eligible for team GB, same with Lake.

The entire GB regime will need to step things up. I wish them the very best but fear the very worst when we step on the is against some of the world's truly elite stars.

Yeah this is correct. The younger Perlini while born in the UK, didn't do 2 years of junior in the UK post the age of 10. With having iced for Canada u20s, would now have to do 4 years in the UK in order to change his national team.

Lord help GB if Billingsley is genuinely being considered for our squad to face the best players on this planet.

There's players much worse than billingsley on that roster.
D Phillips and Echaert for starters !!

Phillips is a borderline one for GB as far as I'm concerned... he does have a nasty habit of playing too much of a North American game in IIHF competition... he has caused problems for GB in the past. However, I would still take David Phillips over Dallas Erhardt for GB every day of the week...

Tbh you could have the league 6 best d men out there next May and it won't make a blind bit of difference.
I can't wait to see Phillips try and stop Dylan Larkin 🤣🤣🤣

There's players much worse than billingsley on that roster. D Phillips and Echaert for starters !! We’re struggling to understand his passion for picking Phillips. Thought Batch would finally have a chance in the first friendly seeing that Phillips isn’t yet back from his injury and yet he’s still preferred! I guess we’re all missing something?

So when GB play Canada what sort of score are we expecting or what would we consider a decent result for GB.. About 10-0 to Canada ?

Really bad. Well, yeah: eliteleague.co.uk/game-centre/standings/Steeler Dan is probably quite highly rated at this point

Probably and the rest.. but I think they ll take it easy on us as they play us 2nd game so wiĺl want to save Energy levels for the better sides they ll face later on.
