There’s about 3000 of us wondering exactly the same as you mate....unfortunately there’s another 3000 or so that just turn up,clap between sips and still think we’re brilliant whatever happens on the ice ! 🙄 You Devils fans must sit back shake your head and laugh at Panthers,I certainly would if I were a Devil. Don’t think many Devils fans laugh at your demise to be honest with you, most of us want the strongest league possible and Panthers are always a huge draw for us, and always a game to look forward to. Just can’t understand how this team seem to have gone backwards over the weeks, obviously it’s far worse for you guys, it has to be a coaching thing, and a attitude thing. Oh it’s definitely an attitude thing,it happens every year no matter what players or coach we have. It’s a management and culture thing just inbred into our team and ethos. I think the Brits are a lot to do with it too, they’re the constants from year to year who help to shape the new imports in what life is like in Pantherland and what they can get away with etc. If you’ve got laid back Brits then it’s going to rub off on the new guys.

I live in Nottingham so see more of the Panthers than Flyers. There are a lot of players on Panthers that I like Pither, Kovacs, Rheault, Olsen, Henderson. I think you should be a lot more physical than you are and I think Chernomaz wants to play that kind of hockey but I don't think he trusts the refs to allow him to do that Like many of us I don't think Chernomaz knows what he is going to get from refs from one game to the next and I think that is stifling his natural instinct and take Panthers game away and lets small, fast, skilful, non physical teams such as ourselves and Guildford to take the game to Panthers Fair points made here. From how RC recruited in the summer and from what he said preseason, he wanted a big strong powerful North American brand of hockey. Unfortunately he failed to take into account the way this league is heading. Minimal contact, low physicality, no hitting, zero scraps dull as dishwater Euro hockey. I don’t think there is a problem at all with physical hockey and big ‘legal’ hits. Look at our new guys first hit last night for example. The problem is that we are NOT a big hitting physical side. In fact we hardly ever hit at all so it’s teams leading towards that way not the league.

I agree he’s recruited wrongly and misread the league by signing the all big team. He’s made changes which is good, but he’s brought in guys in the similar mould, big guys rather than a couple of smaller skilled speedy guys. This team needs the likes of a Matt Francis and a Brendan Cook.

It’s not just about whether we are big hitting physical side or not though, no team in the league is really? Whether it’s the teams/players or the league/officials that are causing this dreary trudge towards full on no contact Euro hockey, it’s undoubtedly happening. It’s no longer the hard hitting, edge of your seat, exciting game we were watching a few years back.

I definitely agree with the assertion that Chernomaz got recruitment wrong and mis-read the league. We’re now afraid to throw a hit with what must be the biggest side in the league. But go back a few months and we were taking a ridiculous numbers of penalties for boarding, roughing etc (last nights debacle aside). It seems he’s got a squad that he is afraid to give free reign to because of those games earlier where the players lack self discipline.

As long as it’s all legal checks and stuff and willing combatants in fights it’s fair. Problem is teams have figured us out. One long pass from behind their goal and our defence is to slow so they get a breakaway.

From where I sat (right opposite) the Farmer incident looked fairly innocent. Their guy seemed to come in, catch has toe and trip into Farmer awkwardly (albeit at speed). The ‘hit’ was just accidental and farmer went over on his ankle... personally I didn’t see anything untiward/intentional in the contact, just unlucky. I’d assume a tweak of ankle ligaments, obviously unsure to what extent? Having said that it was an opportunity to get the building and the team going by Lepine forcing the issue and raising the temperature, unfortunately, like the rest of the game/season the teams general apathy and lack of drive prevailed.
Tetlow was definitely told to go out and sacrifice him self, fair play to the lad... terrible direction for the game to be going in to be thrown out for that. God I miss the hockey from 4/5 years ago and before 😢

Take Doty out of the equation and how many fights have we seen this season? Even when two combatants look as though they might want to go, the linesman are in there to usher them apart. How many games have had you on the edge of your seat this season, gripped with passion and excitement?

Biggs before he left was one of the hardest hitters in The and didn’t pick up to many pims from them. Same as janssen a few years ago. Ofc you can still play physical.

Only one for me really was Coventry at home. That was comfortably the most entertaining and ‘what’s going to happen next?’ game... big hits, fights and general feistiness. Granted I’ve missed a couple but that’s from my memory.

Yes of course (if that’s what ofc means) you can still play physical can’t you? There’s more physicality in the queues for the bar and the toilets. Still waiting for you to name the hard hitting team and the hard hitting players? Still waiting for you to name the games that had you on the edge of you seat this season? If you’re happy with essentially what is fast becoming basketball on ice, you keep going.

If you think this is still a physical game then you obviously haven’t been going for long. its a physical sport with more effective rules due to injury’s and stuff. You can’t run it like they use to. Also the players are better in the league now. Plus we are so slow that it wouldn’t be too hard to dodge a hit.

Better than the EIHL players from 5-10 years ago? Better than Craig Weller, Jordan Fox, Jeff Swez(sp), Neil Martin, Craig Kowalski? Hardly. Yes we are slow, but as I previously stated, it’s not just about us, it’s about the league as a whole.

If our Brits in Cardiff had that attitude, they would be shown the door, Lordo takes no crap from anyone, otherwise he would be in trouble, and he would never put himself in that position. 😂 Of course he would. What a guy. He could replace them with all those other Brits. Anyway, I'd personally rather we concentrated on putting together a team that can control and move the puck as well as Guildford do. The dump and occasionally chase game we've had in Nottingham for the last 5 or so years can jog on. Fighting is over, you can't fight with your visor on, ridiculous. They've killed that and it ain't coming back. Move on and at least try and play attractively. In answer to Ted's question about the seat's edge, I've not been near it all season I don't think.

What a guy. For today's lesson please turn to Romans 10, versus 9-10 in your Devils match programme. 'If you confess that Jesus is Lordo and believe that the King raised him from death, you will be saved (Bowns, 31 saves, 0.917). For it is by our faith that we are put right with Lordo; it is by our confession that we are saved... from Europe.'

I know it’s not as physical as it use to be. Calls are getting harsher but seriously? It’s only going that way bc of the injury cases that can wreck players life after hockey...

Do we all look back with rose coloured glasses, not just about hockey but life generally? Maybe we do - but I'm sure the games I used to watch 15-20 years ago had much more passion and excitement; the game today is played with almost zero passion (certainly from the Panthers) - it's like watching hockey in a funeral parlour - dead; the only passion is shown by the visitors to the parlour, some of whom grieve for something they used to love, but is now gone!

The time worn “do you (assume that’s what ‘u’ meant?) even watch the games argument when someone has a different opinion to you? Brilliant. Well done. Grow up eh? No idea what your last sentence means? What’s bc? Before Christ? Brian Clough? I’m done trying to reason with you young un. I’m done trying to get you to answer any form of questions I’ve raised that might back up what point it is that you’re actually trying to make. It could be an interesting debate but you’re clearly not interested. Still waiting to hear about tough teams, tough players and how you’re measuring those ‘better players’ that are in the league. Lastly, quit with the ‘text speak’ eh? Pretty sure there’s something in the forum rules about that.

Continually we are told by Chernoclue that the players are not playing hard and hitting hard as they are told and he keeps bringing in more and more big players I think a lot of the no-contact style is brought about by players who can’t be arsed more than anything else. Also, lost count of the miss timed hits that our players miss especially against faster better teams (which pretty much covers the rest of the league). Just watch Risling for a few minutes if you need an example.
