I’m annoyed at how that game panned out tonight but the skydome is a tough place to play. That Blaze team are suited to it, Cardiff lost there on Boxing Day so it’s not easy to take points out of there. Trying to look on the bright side we’ve taken 3 points out of 6 possible there, IF we can maintain our 100% home record against them then 9/12 would be respectable. Taking the positives from tonight I thought Rheault had a good game and it’s clear he and Pither have chemistry, hopefully Henderson will go on that line when he’s back as Lacho offers nothing. We were 100% on 7 infractions, Bolduc and Betteridge work well together on the PK, hopefully Rich keeps them together on it. We need to improve our team defence, it’s costing us massively. We’re seeing defensive errors from both forwards and defenders. Rich is tinkering with the forward lines and defence pairings, hopefully when everyone is fit we see the best combinations and see some chemistry and solidity develop. Fingers crossed. I think Rich misread this league and got his recruiting wrong with all the big guys. Someone else said this pre-season, can't think who...

Our defence was shocking yes, absolutely wide open down the middle and our Dmen just can’t cope with speed, they’re slow and lumbering. But Coventry is just the sort of smaller rink that should suit them,it’s often said Manchester and Cardiff have “built a team to suit their smaller ice” where there’s less space and their big guys can hit. It doesn’t seem to matter if the ice is big or small though for our D because nothing seems to suit them. The one who disappoints me most in the hitting and physical department is Olsen, with the size of him he should be plastering forwards into the boards but he just doesn’t do it and he’s not been anywhere near a scrap either. I think Rich misread this league and got his recruiting wrong with all the big guys. I hate to agree with you but yes I was staggered how easy the blaze forwards ghosted past our d down the boards and they ain't particularly quick either. We need a much faster team next year .

I’ve thought this for a while, speed kills no matter what league you are in. We’ve seen how many scoring opportunities being fast can get you by just watching Mosey, now if we just sign a few players like that next season but who can actually score then we’ll be golden.

That last goal as a game winner is very disappointing.

Rich definitely wasn't happy after the game last night, allegedly seen arguing with a Panthers fan and then had a face of thunder when walking towards to coach afterwards. I don't think he'll be back next season and that's before considering the results of this season hockey wise.
He has a right to be angry and disappointed but I've heard several times over the season he's reacted in a less than professional way towards fans.
But anyway, that's at least two games in a row now we've been shafted out of a good goal and ended up losing. I would love more than anything to hear the honest thoughts of our imports in response to the officials in the EIHL. Not to be completely brutal about them but to highlight the issues so the league can work towards making things better.
I think we'll win tomorrow on home ice, it's a must win and I can't imagine the frustration in camp right now.

Sorry but way too late for must win games... that happened a couple of weeks back and they were all losses... Yes the refs have shafted panthers for as long as I can remember.. (one final against Sheffield particularly springs to mind) and yes the results show that there have been favourites such as durham then Sheffield and to some extent Belfast now (although if your Scottish and a ref it would seem you wake up with blinkers on when you are in charge of a Scottish game) but the season that panthers did win not a single point was dropped in Scotland.... you have to win in-spite of the refs and this team is incapable of doing that this season and every season since the grand slam year. In my mind, I truly believe most of that team didn't re-sign was because rightly they wanted a payrise which our management didn't want to give (heard too many of rumours about this for it not to hold some water) and that dynasty that the club was going to create sank the way of every season since... It really annoyed me that the club found a winning formula then threw it away in search of a quick buck and have ever since... which in all honesty is one of the reason I have seen very little games post xmas for the past 3 seasons and likely the same again this year... very disappointing from a club I have followed over many decades but I guess that's what happens when a businessman is in it to make money rather than sporting success, mentioned a lot in the past, there is nothing wrong with making money from business but this is sports business with the primary reason d'etre being to win trophies with the club. Imho this is not the primary goal at Nottingham so with the main driving force being to make money I for one am going to withhold my small contribution until I see a more balanced approach at the club with less emphasis on getting bums on seats and more on getting ticks in the wins column and when that happens then maybe I will resume my attendance, now I know one fan may not make a difference, but a lot of people I know now feel this way. Yes the club get a lot of walk-ups but that is not sustainable, they need a flourishing fanbase and with results and teams they have given us lately that is not likely, to quote success breeds success, if the club win then word of mouth does get round, with vice versa also being true, no one wants to watch a loosing team and numbers will tell. Might not be this season but this will catch up with them, what them? NB sells and moves on to other things, I suspect not but he will need to address what is wrong with the club and its attitude to winning and its fanbase.... maybe then I will feel like supporting them again AND maybe I will have found something else to spend my money on (as well as all the other fans who have left) All I can say is I hope the management don't leave the wind of change too late because this season it wasn't so much a wind as more a light breeze....

I think Rich misread this league and got his recruiting wrong with all the big guys. Someone else said this pre-season, can't think who... Yes it was me. When the big D was being lauded as going to be solid and watertight i said....”as long as they are mobile and can skate on big ice” ! Mmmm 🤔🙄

Mmmm 🤔🙄 Yesterday (and many other times too) they have struggled on small ice. Too many as mobile as a full chest of drawers on rusty wheels. To conceed that last one last night after the forwards finally started to fire was pure criminal.

Barrasso said in an interview that players get confused with the inconsistency in officiating. One minute they turn a blind eye to obvious penalties to “let the game flow”. Next minute any tiny contact is a penalty. Farcical.

What happened to the articles that the Nottingham post used to produce?
We’re never going to get an honest opinion from Rich when it’s an interview done by the club or the league, his interview for the league after last nights game was edited so obviously he’s said something that they don’t like. He’s not afraid to say it how it is but he’s restricted.

Matt Davies who used to do Panthers had a promotion in the summer which meant his focus shifted more towards other sports so he couldn't cover Panthers in any more detail than he sees in the Panthers PR's. Matt was also diagnosed with cancer recently so he'll be having time off work in the New Year. The Post didn't hire anyone or move anyone over to cover Panthers unfortunately.

Well that’s a shame, I really enjoyed reading the interviews he did with the team last season, they were interesting and you found out snippets which the club didn’t want you to know. Here’s hoping he can recover from it!
