We have so much to moan about (and we do!), but let’s celebrate someone who always gives 100%, improves year-on-year, and imho is one of our most important, consistent players - Ollie Betteridge.
I’ve been reaaly impressed by everything Ollie’s done this season. He’s a shining example to ANY player, and always shows the work ethic which is sometimes lacking in the so called stars of our team.
Well done, Ollie. Really enjoy watching you play!

Have to agree. Ollie is the one player on our team you'd find difficult to criticise. Not the most gifted player but he does put the work in and improves year on year and is setting a real example

Ollie is turning into a real power forward... hard skater, throwing some big checks, dives straight into the tumble against the boards, and is starting to find his scoring touch. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a real 'top Brit' coming here...

Definitely agree. One of very few shining lights at the moment.
Enjoy watching #74 play, puts in 100% every shift, throws hits and not afraid to do the dirty work. Still chips in with the odd goal/point here and there too.
Nice job Ollie.

Too add to what has already been said he’s now a key part of our penalty kill unit. I like how aggressive he is when he’s on the PK, plus he’s always willing to put his body on the line for the cause and will block the puck no matter what. Keep it up Ollie!

I really hope the club continue with Corey's off season training by sending him and perhaps the other Brits, most definitely Tetlow, to Canada for a couple weeks or something.
The progress Ollie has made in the last 3 years has been remarkable. It isn't all that long ago he was nailed to the bench unless we were guaranteed to win with 30 seconds to go. Now he appears to be out on the ice for a good 15-20 minutes a night, plays on the special teams and his playing style and work ethic is just superb. I can't remember Matthew Myers when he was a kid as I wasn't old enough but I feel he's the next Myers if not going to be better, we'll see but whatever happens Ollie has a superb career ahead of him in the EIHL and hopefully that'll be in Nottingham throughout.

I agree Ollie has improved season on season. He's good on the PK and is learning more and more about this side of the game. hopefully his play with the puck will improve, which it will need to if he's to be thought of as a valuable Brit. At the moment, he's probably on par Brits like Ben Lake, Ben Davies, Ciaran Long but he's improving all the time.

Ben Lake (if you mean the Coventry one) is American, and Ollie is a long way off Long's scoring output, but he's comprehensively outplayed the much more experienced Lacho for a regular 3rd line spot this year. I get the feeling Ollie could play on any line right now, which is a very useful thing to be able to do. Needs to be a bit more consistent, maybe (6 of his 9 points this year have come in 2 games, and he went -5 last weekend) and a few extra pounds wouldn't go amiss, but he has been one of the nicer features of the team lately, for me.

Agreed Ollie is vastly improved and I’d say proving more effective than Lacho or Farmer these days. As for Ciaran Long, now there is a Brit I would love to see at Panthers,he scores some big goals.

Yep I was wrong about Ben Lake, dont know where I got that from. Apologies, or 'my bad' in the current vernacular

He was a Brit in the EIHL for Steelers a few years ago.

Glad that Ollie is seen as an improvement. So much so that we can keep him interested to stay with us?

If he keeps up the progress and workrate then he'll make it very hard for Pete Russell to not take him to the worlds.
What a fantastic opportunity and experience that would be for him, as it will be for all those who make the final roster.
